Confused about Strength Bug

Ok, I thought the strength bug occurred because the game didn't recognize charms visually that boosted strength, like anni, torch, or just regular strength charms. However, my sorc has base 75 strength and wears wartravelers which gives plus 10 to strength. This would give me 85 strength (using no charms), which should be enough to wear Tals armor (req 84 strength). But people say they still can't see the purple armor, althought the glow effect is apparent.

How exactly does the strength bug work? And how can one avoid it?

I think you understant the theory correctly, but forgot to look at the strength requirement of the wartavs... it's higher than your strength, and therefore they aren't equiped, and therefore you don't get their bonus.


The best way to avoid the strength bug is to just spend the points in your strength, of course. It's not like an extra ~10 stat points somewhere is going to cripple you by any means.
