Confused about gear.

So, I'm a leveling WW Axe barbarian, and I just hit level 66, and I'm going up really fast.

The problem is that most of my gear is 20-30, and my weapon is from hell, but isn't very good either, it's one handed and I picked it up while being rushed through hell. The Butcher's Pupil or something.

When should I start gathering gear? I obviously can't go MFing or anything right now, considering I can't kill anything on my own, and I haven't played in a while (more like a few years, my girlfriend saw my expansion disk and didn't know I played, and she does, so she got me back into it) so I don't really know what is worth what or how to trade anymore.

Is there a list of starter gear or something?

Jokes aside, starting out by playing barbarian can be quite difficult and frustrating... Your damage will be low and handicapped vs bosses unless you get high end gear. Even with elite unique weapons you can have troubles killing fast. I wouldn't recommend a barbarian for starting out, I would most definately make a sorceress. They're cheap to get viable to kill bosses like mephisto for MF while barbs will require good gear. My 90% perfectly geared so called "BvC" barbarian, kills mephisto slower than a tal rasha geared blizzard sorceress, and that is really cheap.

You're in for a tough one if you chose to go barbarian now. You'll be stuck for a great while before you get things flowing.

It might seem grim, but it kind of is. Barbarians are great, at a very high price.

I think I'll try an amazon or a sorc.
