completeing baal and being level 1

Is it possible to complete baal and still be level 1? How do you get around not doing ancients?

--thanks

No it is impossible because you must be 20 to complete the ancients, so if you made a guy today, then no. What you might see are people who got to nightmare or hell in 1.09 and are low level because these rules are in effect after 1.10. These people are basiclly stuck where they are, which is kinda funny.

in a game where someone else kills baal FOR HIS OWN QUEST

you have to be in town, and in party with that guy, and you'll get the quest too.

To put it as plain as possible the last guy is correct, but with a little more info required. It is possible to complete every act and move on the the next without ever leaving town. This can be accomplished by being in the same party with someone that is getting the Act Quest (boss) for the first time. That being said it is possible to have a level 1 that has gotten the title of Patriarch (I did this as a novelity, kinda funny really to see it in the chat area) Anyway most people use this as a way to get characters to hell for the Helforge quest and to get a Character to NM and Hell to mule instead of having to make a normal game.

Awesome, thanks for the clearification. I appreciate it.

why did you have to go and say it? this kind of information shouldnt be spread... :(
What? Info on the more subtle and refined arts of D2 shouldn't be "Spread" on a D2 forum? Maybe this forum is for those that already knows everything about D2, and just needs a place to chat about politics and weather and their pets?

You are aware of how it can be abused to create truckloads of runes (not to mention pgems) just by rushing?

You are aware on the MONTHS required to rush/cube up to a ZOD rune? Your argument is void imho. My bet is that normal MF'ing/trading would net better stuff faster.

no it's not an art, but then again it shouldn't be up to you how anybody plays his or her game, or how she or he is having fun. If someone wants to rush, let him rush.

That was why I didn't say it in my first post.
errr... and wasn't that you who was looking for the fastest way to harvest runes with your 8+ pcs?? :innocent:

If it isn't breaking any rules, why shouldn't it be posted? And hellforge rushing is no easy, fast thing; it requires a constant supply of level 20 ancient runners and takes time to get a mule from act1 normal to act4NM hellforge, not to mention possibly Hellforge in Hell. It's not like a walk down in the pit. If there's a way to legitimately obtain the runes so many people have obtained through duping and cubing, why not do it?
If Bnet decides to fix the quest code so you can't get ancients unless you are level 20 period, then so be it. Otherwise it's a legitimate endeavor, as legitimate as Pindleskin running or Pit runs.

It doesn't take month to do so, depending on your setup and time avaliable,

It requires alot more setup than that...but I can assure you, that its alot easier than that....I am almost feeling scared about posting my findingd.

It's not as difficult as you think, especially regarding the supply of level 20's. Once the low level char reaches act 5, make a public game, ie: "baal quest here". Then just sit in town as they complete the quest.

Or even better, have a high level friend join the game to help them, nobody minds a level 1 leecher in the game if a 70+ guy is scoring all the kills at ease.
