Full disclosure - Never heard of D2 until all those people started complaining D3 did not really satisfy like D2 did. Acquired 1.13C D2. Acquired mod to mule and get all the RWs and events. Started grinding game and lurking SPF for advice/guides. I play offline, SP and in no haste. I like minions a lot - Grizz/Shadow Master/Skellies/Valk/Wolves/Ravens/even Vines - anything that can distract the enemy suits me fine. I play Hell at P1 but Normal/Nightmare up to P8 depending on mood. Here's my Mat/Pat blurb from every class in order of completion:
Fishymancer - Found that moving my clay golem around the battlefield is plenty effective instead of confusing myself fumbling thru curses beyond Amp and Decrep. Eventually got 500+ MF and ran mostly LK to great success: soon had Fort, Grief PB, CoH, 2XSoJ's, various skiller GCs, eth Odedience Thresher for Merc - and tons of other OP gear.
Conc Barb - Fashioning a Grief PB finally got me unstuck and moving again after bogging down in Hell A2. The Grief PB let me get a frenzy barb thru Hell, too. Then I went many months without a Mat/Pat before zipping thru the following in just the last few weeks ...
FA/Strafe Amazon - WWS for a spell then the Windforce/Atma's Scarab combo carried me thru Hell no prob. One of my funnest builds.
Fire/Summon Druid - Max Fissure/Volcano/Dire Wolves/Grizz - really fun, a little slow waiting for Volcano to hit immunes and bosses tho. Finally building a HOTO was verrrry handy for the rest of these builds.
Hydra/Blizz Sorc - Tried something diff - turned out really fun. This is the only char I had that struggled against the Ancients - took 3 or 4 tries. Never used static - mostly because I forgot about it. doh
Fanatic Zealot Pally - Cookie cutter - Grief PB/Atma's Scarab/Guillaume's/Gore Riders/Laying of Hands all made it a meat grinder. Bumped into Diablo Clone at the LK front gates and a furious 15 secs later I was staring at an Annihilus Charm. The only build I had that even dented DC - although my barbs never ran into it.
Trap Assassin - Had fun with WoF until level 30 then respec'd into the LS/DS combo that bosses the rest of the game. Fishy's right, FB is a surprisingly fun and useful skill. And Shadow Master antics didn't bother me like it does others.
Now on to HC with mostly a different set of builds. I've almost got a HC build from each class to Hell Rogue Encampment but I have very little OP gear in my Hell stash. So the plan is to move them thru Hell together sharing drops laterally like an online MP group might do. See how many I can get thru alive. Let you know whenever. Thx for all the advice you didn't know you all were giving me. hehz
