Last time I debated matter with him, Saro was not big on death penalty in any case (possible exception during war; we didn't cover this ground properly), might be that and his general consistentcy.

Speaking for myself...my reaction was just joking around.

To give some counterargument for the child love doll though... Something like that might encourage the behavior. The user might not be satisfied with a doll, and since the doll was encouraging and promoting acting on his lusts...it is possible that it might lead to the real thing.

Where as, if we just locked those people up for thinking about it...problem solved. (again...joking)

People are not playing video games to release inner lusts or urges. They are playing them for entertainment. If someone is using a video game as an outlet for inner rage and whatnot...then I would have the same problem with it. Said person should go seek some help and not act (even if digitally) on their ill thoughts.

According to David Sedaris (a *** author), the boys who were the quickest to attack a suspected *** student were the ones who later turned out to be ***. Apparently they believed the easiest way to draw suspicion away from themselves was to be uber-vigilant.

Point? The people here who are the most vocal about killing/imprisoning people for their thoughts are more likely to be sharing those same thoughts.

What's next? Should we also lock up people who stare at merchandise in a store on suspicion of having theft-related thoughts?

I have a belief that everyone has their own demons. I don't understand alcoholism, for example. Nor do I understand why someone would steal. But seeing as none of us are perfect, I can guarantee EVERYONE of you has something in your life you're hiding. Something you wish you could stop doing/thinking and control, but you can't. Everyone has their demons, and kudos to everyone who manages to control them:
The klepto who didn't steal today
The alcoholic who didn't drink today
The angry/abusive who didn't hit anyone today
The gossip who didn't slander someone today

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Can you cite the law?

Because from 18 USC s2252A:

(a) Any person who— (1) knowingly mails, or transports or ships in interstate or foreign commerce by any means, including by computer, any child pornography;
...
shall be punished as provided in subsection (b).

(c) It shall be an affirmative defense to a charge of violating paragraph (1), (2), (3)(A), (4), or (5) of subsection (a) that— (1) (A) the alleged child pornography was produced using an actual person or persons engaging in sexually explicit conduct; and
(B) each such person was an adult at the time the material was produced; or

(2) the alleged child pornography was not produced using any actual minor or minors.

and 18 USC s 2256 defines child pornography as:

(8) “child pornography†means any visual depiction, including any photograph, film, video, picture, or computer or computer-generated image or picture, whether made or produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means, of sexually explicit conduct, where— (A) the production of such visual depiction involves the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct;
(B) such visual depiction is a digital image, computer image, or computer-generated image that is, or is indistinguishable from, that of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct; or
(C) such visual depiction has been created, adapted, or modified to appear that an identifiable minor is engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
