comparison between fury wolf n zealot

my friend and I are comparing the pros between a zealot and a fury wolf. Putting the skill of the player aside, we have the below points...

my friend favors the zealot cuz u can holyshield which gives higher defense than a wolf and with a paladin shield the resistance will be higher too. fanatacism, being an aura, is better than heart of wolverine because when HoW has to be recast often and its damage enhancement is less than what fanatacism can bring.

I favor the fury wolf more because werewolf and lycanthrophy brings higher life and speed. also, in wolf form you can use basically any weapon (including bows and throwing stuff, therefore more weapon choice for untwinked) whereas a paladin can't zeal with a bow or crossbow.

wut do u think?

Re: comparison between fury wolf n zealot

A Fury wolf has the advantage that it can hit the same speed with 2 handed weapons as with 1 handed weapons (although Grief broke that advantage a bit), can have more life, has summons and gain a lot of leech through Feral Rage. Wereforms have the disadvantage that they require IAS that specifically comes from the weapon.

A Zealot does more damage (given the same weapon), is less tied up in IAS requirements from the weapon, and has a more natural PI solution (Vengeance and Sanctuary).

I like the wolf a tad bit more cuz it seems like its more general for a wolf to use a 2H weapon (I rarely see zealots using 2H weapons)

actually... pls correct me if I'm wrong... for untwinked non-ladder wolf (thus no Grief, Death, Fortitude, etc...), it would be better to use 2H since there not much 1H weapon that can cause as much damage as a 2H weapon, right? the only reason I wanna use the 1H is because I can also use a shield (a wolf can also block, right?)
