cleansing prayer synergy

So, I was looking into the abbot build. Which is all about prayer synergized with cleansing for healing and then physical damage reduced by x being maxed. The thing I don't get is +skills and defensive aura gcs are highly regarded.

My question is about the synergy. I thought synergies don't benefit from +skills on their synergy skill. Is prayer + cleansing different? Will +skills to prayer enhance the prayer bonus to cleansing?

Prayer is....strange. It seems to benefit from the + skills (Well, I saw it on a meditation aura synergy, it's + life rep and then with my gear on).

I'd assume the same works for cleansing.

Bonuses To Cleansing
Prayer: same as having Prayer active without mana cost

AS says it's like having the aura on, so I guess it's like the current aura (post + skills).
