Clay or Iron for bosses?

I just wondered how many ppl has used/are using Iron Golems for bosses?
I mean ig summoned from iks maul (socketed with 2 eth runes). That mean no switching gear since itll take care of your cb and -defense work, plus the dmg wont be so bad either.
Is it effective enough to give up clays slowing? Iv never tried ig but i have a few ik mauls lying around so i tought id give it a try.

Using an IG made from IK Maul for bosses can be a good tactic. Just make sure that your IG has enough hitpoints to survive for some time. Be sure to keep the boss slowed with Decrep and preferably chilled with some cold damage. This works best when there aren't a lot of minions around so IG can actually reach the boss.

Most people go for Clay because he is easy to recast and reposition and doesn't require a lot of Eth runes and Mauls whenever he dies. This gives your Merc a lot of protection and a Merc is easy to equip with some CB.

I used a clay golem with 4k life and it survived very well.
Now with my new build Ill have a 8.6k life IG in hell, so i think itll whitstand most dmg (unless IM'd).

... i think u should use ig to start out with, do some damage to it. try to keep it alive, but if it does die, just recast a clay golem and finish it off

like mantis said, clay golem is usually chosen by players because of it's enormous life and it's ability to slow down monsters. it is also very easy to recast and u wont have to waste anytime to get ig's

Bosses are strange.
They really dont swing much on minions, they zap them. IGolem would be the best choice if it only those stupid bosses would stop zapping.

Everyone knows though that IG pimp's ho's.

Still, a clay golem at hell baal supplanted the need for decrepify. I think decrepify if a waste of a curse, it doesnt HELP the party beat down or live forever, its just middle ground. Blood tap with summons on a boss is my fav.

Clay+decrepify - ALWAYS!!! Diablo can't move a **** and Baal keeps frozen and cannot teleport. Clay is godly in this patch, I love this little pimp

Clay+amp+cold dmg Beats clay+decrep+cold dmg

With baal chilled and clay slowing he cant really execute an attack either. And amp gives way more dmg than decrep. Try it sometime :thumbsup:
