Clan/etc/place with player base ...

I always loved this game and I just started playing it again over the Diablo 3 announcement for release this year. What I am finding hard is playing without friends/clan mates.

I am on Ladder US-EAST and I am wondering are there channels or clans or a group of people that will accept a new player like myself and play and chat and just chiil, maybe use a bit of vent or w.e.

I got my sorc up to 61 and I am ready to move onto to hell, but it is getting boring playing without friends
