    Chipped Gems

I've started doing Hell Countess runs to get myself some runes (best I've had so far was a Ko, and that was from a Devilkin ), and I have found myself innundated with middle runes that I want to upgrade.

Trouble is, I have no chipped gems, so my question to the SPF is, where is the best place to find chipped gems. I've tried normal cows and they tend to give me regular gems, rather than chipped.

Get a high level Holy Freeze merc, and go walkies in Act 1.

Or, use a high level paladin with an aura like Holy Shock, and go walkies in the Act 2 tombs.

Tip: build a new char, a Paladin. Stuff many points in Holy fire. Then run around the Blood Moor while your portable BBQ roasts them in a blink of an eye. Just listen for that *ping* sound to know when a chippy has dropped.

Edit: Note to self: Don't post when FrostBurn's around. He types faster.

Well, I'm ahead of you guys there, because my main character is actually a Holy Shock Paladin.

    Cheers for the replys.

I have a different suggestion than what others have told you.
Build a new char that you like and you will use in the future.
Don't skip quests, kill everything you see.
If you do that for act1 and act2 (possibly act3 too),you will gain enough chipped gems and also you will have levelled a character that you like.
This one IMO is not as boring as the 'chippy-din'

When you start a new char, just save all the chipped/flawed gems you come across in normal. There isn't anything to loot in normal difficulty anyway, so your stash should be empty anyway :)

I just started my first SP character, and I probably have a hundred or so chipped gems, just from keeping the ones that drop along the way.

If you use ATMA, it makes it easy to keep them.

If you get tired of harvesting from Devilkin, Ghosts have the highest chance of dropping from the gem glass from any monster in the entire game.
