chance of shopping white wand

Hi, i searched around a bit in shopping threads, but couldn't find the answer on the question i have.
What is the chance of shopping a white (can be 2 sox or superior, doesn't matter aslong as its a nonmagical non1sox bonewand) at drognan normal difficulty with these automods:
-3 bonespear
-3 bone armor
-3 skeleton mastery, or 3 skeleton warrior, or 3 teeth.
Did about 150 shops there and best i got was a plain 3 bonespear one and a rather good (just not good enough) 1 bonespear 2 bone armor 3 skeleton mastery one.
Takes me aprox 1 minute and a half to shop 10 times, thanks for whoever has the answer.

I believe you want to do it with a Clvl 18 character, as that will give the best chance for those mods, and the wands with higher mods will be redded out so it's easier to search for wands that would have the mods you're looking for. Spawn a map where the entrance is right next to Drognan for best results.

Can someone give a more specific answer or some way to be able to figure out how much tries it would take on average?
(I know about the affix calculator, but these aren't affixes so i don't see how i could calculate it with that)

I'm not even sure these can be shopped. 3/3/3 is very hard to get in staff mods (332 or 322 is much more shop-able) and there is some kind of limit on the relative level of the mod's ( you can't get spells with levels more than X from the other spells level with a high + Mod ). So as BS is lvl 18 req and the others are Level 1 req, I think the one you got may be about as good as you can do unless you change the selection of spells you are looking for.
Search on Staff Mods (thats What I believe these are called) etc. I know I saw a thread that covered staff mod generation if not the shopping of it.

It's a bit intricate to calculate, but if I had to guesstimate the chances for that to get rolled would be a lot worse than 1 in a million.

Here we go.

Shopping in Act 2 normal with a clvl 18 character means that the ilvl will reach the cap of 20. (ilvl = clvl + 5 and there are caps for each act of normal difficulty.) Each staffmod for an ilvl 20 item runs as follows:

1/10 chance of tier 1 (RSW, SM, Amp, Teeth, Bone Armor)
2/10 chance of tier 2 (CG, CE, Dim, Weaken. Poison Dagger is excluded)
5/10 chance of tier 3 (Golem Mastery, RSM, Bone Wall, IM, Terror)
2/10 chance of tier 4 (BG, PE, BS, Confuse, Life Tap)

So there's a chance of 2/10 * 1/5 = 1/25 that any particular staffmod will be Bone Spear. Staffmods always run at the following frequencies:

6/10 +1 to the skill
3/10 +2
1/10 +3

So the chance of any particular staffmod being +3 Bone Spear is 1/250. Likewise, the chance of any particular staffmod being +3 Bone Armor is 1/500.

Next, staffmods spawn at these frequency on items:
3/10 no staffmods
3/10 one staffmod
2/10 two staffmods
1/10 three staffmods

We're only interested in the latter two categories. The chance for a wand to have exactly two staffmods of +3 BS and +3 BA is 2/10 * 1/250 * 1/500 * 2 = 1/312500. (The last * 2 is because we have two permutations: we can either get BS first then BA, or the other way around.) The chance for a wand to have exactly three staffmods of +3 BS, +3 BA, and anything else is 1/10 * 1/250 * 1/500 * 6 permutations = 1/208333. Sum those chances and we get 1/125,000 wands with +3 BS and +3 BA.

Finally, one-third of normal items are pre-socketed, and one-half of those are pre-socketed with one socket which makes it useless for the White runeword, so 1/6 of items are further eliminated. So applying a final multiplication factor of 5/6, the chance of any normal nonmagical bone wand at Drognan to have +3 BS and +3 BA is 1/150,000.

If you want to add a requirement for +3 to a third tier-1 skill (SM or RSW or Teeth), your chances go to 1/10 * 1/250 * 1/500 * 1/500 * 6 * 5/6 = 1/125,000,000. Happy shopping. :grin:

Thank you, that answers absolutely everything.
Think i will count myself very happy with a 3 bonespear/3 bonearmor wand.
(Its doable i guess when you factor the average of nonmagical bonewands at Drognan, around 2-3 i guess)
Count myself lucky i even found a plain 3 bonespear one in around 150 tries not to mention the 1 bonespear/2 bonearmor/3 SM one :)
(Hmm, gonna make a Faster run walk barb, lol)

Will post when i shop anything close to what i'm looking for, will also count how many times i shopped and how much time it took, for laughs :D

Yes it is, sadly such a wand can't be shopped and thus needs to be dropped by a monster.
Luckily the runeword White is cheap so you could always make a new and better one if you have the luck of finding a wand with even better mods.

Yes, as long as it can get two sockets. Items "Wand", "Yew Wand", and "Burnt Wand" can only get one socket. All others can get two sockets, and will if Larzuked.

Shopped 200 times last night, best i got was a 3 bonespear 1 bone armor 2 sox white bone wand.
I will shop another 100+ today.
(quickly gets boring though, till you find what you're looking for that is, makes it all worth it)

Is there any particular level I should shop at if I want :

+3 BS +x Decrp?
+3 BS +x Revive?
+3 BS +x Spirit?

Or can they even be shopped?

I really don't want to have to spend any points in curses if I don't need to. Nor do I want to have to put any hard points into Revive. I'd much prefer having +3 BS + Decrp. I had a +2 BS +2 Decrp, it was a Yew wand though so only one socket.

It can't be shopped if it needs to be non-magical.
Highest skills you can shop for on a non-magical wand are lvl 18 skills and all the skills you listed go beyond that, so such a wand you need to drop from a monster.

This is quite a good thing to do. I shopped a 3 bonespear 2 soc wand, made a white, then traded for a 27 maras =)
