Chains of Honor

I have a quick question for all you people who have wore chains of honor on a barb before. I have a chains of honor dusk shroud, and it has a max of 22 durability. This armor breaks VERY fast being a frenzy barb and costs damn near a mil to repair and I honestly can't make money fast enough to repair, so I've been sticking to repairing it with ral runes and using my engima when I can. I was wondering: is the repair cost for an archon plate is about the same when fully broken even though it has a much higher max durability? Also this may or may not be true but I heard that dusk shroud breaks faster than archon plate.

Thanks ahead of time for the amazing feedback I know is coming.

I quiet dont get it...
Whats the ED on your chains of honor?
If it's more than 70% which is suppose to be the actual runeword bonus, then it was made in a 'superior armor' which had bonus 5-15% ed and will take lots of gold to repair all the time, just like my fortitude on sup ap.

Since it has 22 durability, the base was probably superior with 10%+ extra durability which would certainly raise the repair costs to ginormous values without offering much benefit. Use a non-sup armor and repair costs will go dooowwwwnnnnnnnn.

Re: Chains of Honor

Dusk shrouds are a nuisance for melee characters and those with bad blocking or no shield because its durability is so low. I suggest to invest a bit more into str if necessary and to get CoH in an archon plate (which is a light armor as well), but use a non-superior one with 500+ defense. I don't think that saving a few str points and a bit more defense from a superior armor is worth the extra hassle in PvM.

Ah, thanks for the advice.

Thing is this coh was originally used on an uber bowzon, and I actually never found out the max repair cost on her cause well... she never got hit and if she did she usually just died instead of taking a beating. It worked great for the bowzon with the low str requirement but you're right, I have a 0 hard point str barb and he can still get away with wearing the archon without having to put any points in strength (and it's a good thing too, he's level 96 ><)

Re: Chains of Honor

I just changed a COH dusk to AP and that was on a sorc:wink2: 22//23 dur on Sup Dusk compared to 69 on a Sup AP just speaks for itself.

It always makes me chuckle when people in game say OMG lol your dusk is only 467 def or your AP is only 524 def thats crap !!! If they only knew ......

I usually ignore people who start their sentences with "omg lol" anyway, so I won't even read the rest, except for my own amusement :smug:

Ive read that enhanced durability on runeword superior items increases the cost to repair more significantly than enhanced defense. Is there any truth to this?

Interesting.. I recently got a 15/15 AP CoH for my sorc (69 durability), and once it got down to around 22 it was over 600k to repair, so I just Raled it. How much does a non-superior one cost to repair?
