    CE radius question

consider the following situation where N is your necro and A is target C is corpse

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    ...........A....xx
    ...xxxxxxxxxxxx
    ...x
    ...xxxxxxxxxxxx
    ..........C...Nxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

assuming that CE's radius is big enough, will the corpse detonated at C affect a creature at point A?

Don't think so. I'll do some testing.

It works somewhat on a wall and a doorway, or i believe JUST on the other side of a "wall" but It looks like you have a huge gap in that image in between you and the corpse. So, no I don't think that would work at all.

    1. You're way too far away from the edge.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    .A...............xx
    ..xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    ..xx
    ..xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    .C............Nxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thats probably more likely to work, such an odd question.

    maybe he worded it wrong.

ce will effect any monster in it's radius so long as its on a level playing field. there are occasions where it'll go past walls/doors (think a2 tombs / a1 catacombs) but that is buggy ihmo.

    good luck

hitting through walls is pretty common IMO, but I think the monsters has to be very close to the wall...

Yeah with maxed CE in the pit, it does deem that it will go around corners/thin walls even though the physics should not allow it.

Yeah, the monster needs to be close to the wall and preferable on the edge of the corner. The body can't be to far from the edge as well. Most buggy areas in that respect are as mentioned by gvandale, the tombs in Act I and II.

Ok, thanks for the info. i was thinking in terms of teh windy bits in maggot lair, around some of those S bends and such.

hmm, im not sure how area blocks are organised in D2, but maybe if the CE corpse has direct line of site to the area that the creature is in, but not the creature itself, it works. that would help explain the bits in A1 & A2

Maybe this can help you with some of the area block issues.
