Casino Royale

Just saw this movie last night and can only say...wow. This is Bond in a whole new light, hardcore, kickass and totally awesome. The fight scenes, car scenes, any scene really, in this movie are all amazing. This movie revitalized my interest in the series which was waning after GoldenEye. If you are interested in an amazing action flick, check it out.

He's rough, and somewhat ragged around the edges, since this movie shows him becoming a Double 0 Agent. But he starts becoming the bond we all know and love near the end.

I've never liked Bond movies, although I've been meaning to watch Goldeneye again to re-assess it.

Loved it, and I generally don't enjoy Bond flicks much. This was much more serious, and cut out alot of the cheesy conventions that weighed down the series so much (but made enough playful nods to them, I felt)

I've been hearing great things about this movie. I need to check it out. Casino Royale was my favorite Ian Fleming novel.

Yeah I liked this one a lot also. Daniel Craig has the remorseless killer side of 007 down perfectly. The first chase scene is also incredible, although more for the guy he's chasing than Bond himself.

EDIT: Holy crap I have 900 posts. Oh how time flies.

I've never liked Bond movies. The jokes were stupid, and everything felt so fake. Which is why I loved this one; it seems gritty, and it seems real.

The opening sequence was a little too Jackie-Chan-ish for me, but the whole audience was oohing and aahing.

The entire additional act tacked onto the end made it a little long, though.

Well I don't know any good Bond movie that doesn't last two and a half hours or more.

And dirkdig, you should never expect "good" poker in a Hollywood movie. I got annoyed by one of Bond's cronies, who was explaining to the clueless girl (or more likely the clueless audience) every move Bond or his counterpart made. And yes, the last hand is poorly thought up.

So he does have sides, a front and a back...
Actually, it can only have both a front and a back if your two dimensional object is embedded in a three-dimensional space.

Well, either that or it's topologically two disconnected discs, but let's not get into that.
