Can't pick my last character... Advice?

I've been playing my werewolf for about a month now, and I'm quite enjoying it. But I have yet to find a character I wish to master... What I mean is a character that is fun to play and effective in many situations... I want to make one final character for PvP and master this one character until I bid farewell :wink3: . I'm somewhat undecided between 4 or 5 different builds and was wondering if you DII enthusiatsts would help me make up my mind once and for all. Here they are:

~ BvA
~ Bone Necro
~ Bowazon
~ Poison/Summon Hybrid Necro
~ Smiter [No grief, can't afford]

If anyone can give me the pros and cons of any of the previously stated builds and they're favorite I'd be quite content

If you can't afford a grief for your smiter.. then most likely you can't afford one for your BvA reducing your weapon choices to doom/doom or ebotdz(yuck)/beast as a dual wield choice, and a fury zerker/SS. Ebotd has died off in comparison to grief.. so good luck making a barb w/o one. Not to mention they require lots of life or life/2nd mod charms, dunno if thats expensive or not NL.

Bowazon is often weak without a team mate. You might be able to destroy a few pub games but you won't hold up once someone stronger joins. Maybe the perfect bowzon (gg charms) would be a decent fight, but still not worth it.

If you're not uber rich, I would recommend casters, they are slightly less dependant on weapons and most of the times, charms. As long as you have the necessary skillers, you don't need the ones with life. I've had my fb sorc w/o life charms kill ones with, but as with any build, more life does help. Know that with casters often times skill can win the day, but the more melee oriented you are, the more dependant on equipment you get.

Bone necro is a good vs. all class if played correctly. It has some challenging classes to fight against, aka ES sorcs, windies, the like... However, it does not get DESTROYED by those classes, an important difference when considering class weakness. Say for example a bowzon fights a smiter. Smiter will win 99% of the time, whereas if a necro fought an ES sorc, it would be possible to actually win if you do well.
(not to mention ES sorcs are very expensive as well, so you won't see many)

Poison/summon hybrid sounds interesting, i've only ever fought 3.. and only 1 was any decent. Sounds viable though, watch out though because of your short range you will get hit hard and often. Unless you use revives, you can count on many chars hitting you harder, and faster than you can kill them.
If you go this route, it will take some extreme skill to kill good:
Lightsorcs (CL or nova)
FB Sorcs
Barbs (IM/walls might be helpful here?)
Any long range caster.. (poison nova is slow and is easy to dodge)
Maybe lightning zons, windies, trapper, etc.

As you can see.. IMO I think the hybrid necromancer has a lot more ground to cover in terms of weakness. But could be much more fun and original. Not to mention I hear they can destroy other necs???? someone wanna tell me the truth? throw in a bugged merc on a summoner ftw!

psn necro is the bomb.

Pros:
> Any melee char w/o enigma is pretty much ez.
> Boners/windys play defence and overcome.
> Annoys people to death
> Many people forget/doesn't bother to stack psn res (not that it matters much in hell with lower res + dw +facets)
> Takes time to master
> Many kills with your fire golems aura
> ~cheap (compared to bvc/bvb/smither)

Cons:
> Trappers + fohers + 200fcr sorcs are mad hard to duell. Stack to death.
> good bvc's will rape u unless you got mad skills
> Good faith bowers, if you get 1 nova in most are dead. Though once i was 1hit KO by an arrow so they are hard sometimes.
> Low range -> cant just sit around and spam, takes skill
> Enigma is a must, not just recomended.

This build is great vs. smithers because all you really have to do is 1-2 drive-by's and there life will be 0. Then finnish with a skill of your choice. (teeth, fire golem, another nova, dream aura on merc, merc arrow and so on)

mine items are 9clean skillers / torch / anni / good dw/ 3x5/5 facets / nigma / rare circlet / rare boots / caster rings / homo / Darkforce / crafted ammy / arach / TO glowes )

/D.

Do you hit 125fcr with this setup?
How about chars with max resists + PLR setup?

lets just say that in pubbys not many chars bother to stack psn
Lower res -61 / dw -53 / facets -15 psn res + often hell game.

fcr:
circlet 20 + to glowes 20 + arach 20 + ammy 15 + darkforce 30 + 2x caster rings = 125. I only bother to use 125 vs. casters though.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been thinking it over and Zon hybrid or Necro hybrid will be my choice. Still contemplating. Any thoughts on which would be better? For the 125% FCR thing it wouldn't really matter would it? Considering you only need to cast every few seconds not a few times per second since the Poison Damage wouldn't stack...

From results on open with my friends the Hybrid Zon is winning, but we shall see.

I'd suggest a fury/rabies wolf, then again, i suggest a wolf for just about anything.....:wink2: Read our guide if you need more info, stickied in the druid forum.

About the psn nec... You dont need alot of fast cast, since poison nova has no cast delay and since you wont be spamming it 24/7 it isnt that vital to reach the 125% breakpoint.

I love my Venomancer necro! He's great... And truly does kill a lot of things. The only problem is that it is hard to get a lot of FCR while also maintaining your poison damage. I love Trang's 3-piece bonus (mad crazy psn dmg added to your pnova) but it'd be nice to have some FCR gloves on.

Anyway my venonmancer on pubs vs. all different kinds is currently 11/15, the 4 losses being registered to a Faithazon, a Farcaster Java, a Smiter, and a BvC.

It's cheap, even in its neutered form, and fun as hell because no one expects PNovas flying at them.

+1 on Enigma is a must!!!

Pure Rabie, it can really annoy the hell out of alot of unprepared duellers. 95% of public don't stack poison either :-/

there is a reason for it though, where exactly do you meet those pure rabies druids?
Statistically light res stack is most vital, than some cold maybe. Poison proves useful every 20 games maybe, not even sure about that.

Rabies/Fireclaw Still Viable???
@Rangniheldr: I'm all down for the Werewolves but I'm just not a Fury Fan...
I've been thinking Rabies/Fireclaw or a messed up Feral rage build since I adore that skill. The Grief price on Nl is through the roof along with the Eth Tomb Reaver... So i'm stuck for weapons for my Fury. Rabies/Fireclaw however...
PhaseBlade 'ShaelShaelShaelShaelIasIas' costs me a few pennies i found walking home... if you got any updated guides to this build other then Kaz's I'd appreciate it.

Rabies/Fireclaw is the most effective pvm killer ive ever seen.

The killing speed is amazing:thumbsup:

We probably wont update our guide to include Rabies/Fireclaw variants, Kaz's Flaming Rabies guide is an excellent source of information though.

@Rang: I have seen Kaz's Guide and was quite impressed, although some of my questions weren't answered but I'll figure em out on the way. Ty

My vote goes for the Bowazon because she is just plain fun..

Even when you have the best equipment it will tak A Lot of skill to kill other people. Need to master running/shooting. Overall i think its the most fun/challenging/good pvp char.
