Can't find a V/T Guide? Comment on my build @@

I'm currently thinking of building a V/T (more smite than foh) but am having a terribly hard time deciding on the skill points/gear. Heres what I'm thinking:
Level 90 Skills:
20 Smite
20 Fanat
20 Foh
20 HS
10 Holy Shield
12 Prerequisites
(Gonna be using a Convic/Foh stick on switch)

Gear:
Ber/Ber CoA (some think Shako is the best?)
MP or AP (if enough Strength) Enigma
Maras
Waterwalks
35 FCR Sacred Targe Spirit
Grief PB
Trangs**
Arach** (Perhaps these two can be swapped for Bloodfists/Dungos and paired with a Grief Zerk against tough Melee Chars?)
20 Dex Raven
BK Ring

Switch will be CTA Convic/FoH Stick + Any Spirit
OR the +25/-25 FoH Stick + 5/5 HoZ (If I feel like prebuffing BO or team PK)

Inventory:
Torch/Anni
4-6 Pcomb Lifers (I think i can get 25ish ones)
Rest 15+Life/Resist SCs
1x Resist/FHR SC

With this I can achieve 75FCR/86FHR/6FPS Smite
I think FoH will be around 5 - 5.5k
Life most likely between 4 - 4.5K (This depends on how good my charms are ^^)
Resists will be easily taken care of with CoA + Maras + Spirit + Inventory
**Against hard hitting casters CoH + Kira's can be an easy solution without negatively impacting damage too much.

My main goal is to create a versatile, all around char. I plan to utilize Telesmite along with charge and FoH to deal with a variety of situations. However as I am not too knowledgable about pally's yet (first real pk pally), I'm looking for some constructive feedback/critisizm on my gear/skills.

Thanks! :prop:

ah it looks good. one thing i would change though is instead of maxing fanat have enough points in foh to hit -150 enemy res after mods (including other gear?) instead of maxed smite max holy shield. instead of spirit for your smite shield i would put eth vortex exile, eth uped zoded hoz or even a pally pheonix...but spirit? hmm thats all i can think of right now:lipsrsealed:

i am confused bout youre skill distribution:) i doubt you can put 30 points in holy shield;)
and if you are going for COA, you will have enough str for archon plate;)
I didn't think that the casting delay of foh can be diminished by faster cast rate, so i doubt the spirit and trang gloves will make any difference.

I wouldn't suggest relying on a scepter for conviction - switching to one to save points looks convenient on paper, but in a duel it really isn't practical and generally won't work the way you hope it would. I'd suggest shaving 3 points off of holyshield to put 1 in conviction; you really don't lose -that- much damage.

Also you mentioned using coh... I wouldn't recommend statting yourself to be able to use it =/. Between kiras, res boots, and [if really necessary] 205 shields / a pally sanctuary, you'll be fine.

Don't listen to necrode about maxing holyshield before fanat and smite, I'm really not sure of the reasoning behind that. As well as his reasoning behind a vortex exile and phoenix =\

Though personally if it were my v/t, I'd drop a fcr frame or two. Fcr setups are more suited towards pure smiters; v/ts have a ranged attack so they don't need to worry quite so much about being as mobile.

I'm not terribly worried about any gear changes that don't affect my stat points; I just don't want to remake a char =]
I'll put the points in conviction then; i had a bad experience with relying on a scepter for conviction from my mage =/
Would you suggest keeping holyshield @ base and pumping conviction? I figure that it will get me closer to, if not to level 25.

Well a V/T tends to only have a single point in conviction and therefore has a stronger smite attack. I agree with Camden that you should place the point in conviction and use a little less holy shield. As for the fcr, you don't need it, although an enigma will help you more than a COH, even against casters. Most casters don't have very good resists, therefore FOH kills them fairly easily. Most es sorc's don't have that great fcr, therefore you should be able to charge them down.

Definitely don't try using an FOH switch, the amount of time it will take you to switch gear will usually mean you are dead against a good dueler. Try to get a nice open wounds belt and gloves with +20 ias. Then switch to a zerker for the additional range (keep the pb in your stash if you would like to help you against holy freeze users).

Get rid of the spirit, use HOZ it has better + skills and great stats overall. Don't use exile unless you are meaning to BM.

Finally get tri resists boots if you can instead of waterwalks, and please, please max fanat.

Perhaps because HS gives defense as well, while smite only adds smite damage. Not saying I agree with him though.

One in convic is enough. People are going to have to stack against you anyway even with 1 point and +skills.

Agreed with the fanat part, but imo WWs is better than rare boots. WWs gives you dex/life, which is more universal in use than tri-res. Sub in tri-res against heavy ele casters. The 15 dex can give you max block too, while removing it means that you will not have max block, which is fine against most casters, exception being ww/trap. or melee sorcs.
