Can someone explain the Marrowalk Bug?

I've seen references to it on the Nec forum, and people there blasting one another because this question gets asked too often. But, I'm a latecomer, and I could use a quick explanation of what it does.

Sure. I used it for my hybrid summon/bonemancer. It gives you lvl 33 boneprison. If you build a necro and don't put any skill points in prison, you'll get the synergy for lvl 33 bone prison in your other skills. It's very important though not to put any points in prison or else it'll overwrite the synergy bonus.

IIRC this bug works for all items with charges, but the marrowwalk is the most prevalent as it is lvl 33, and has a big synergy hence the name. The only other one i can think of that would work is a rabies wolf with the item that has high lvl poison creeper charges (cant think of it off the top of my head)

To reiterate what freezeburn said, If you have no points in a skill, but an item with charges of that skill, it will give you a synergy bonus equivalent to the lvl of the charges.

The item you're thinking of is Carrion Wind (Unique Ring), which has lv21 vine charges. Like Marrows, it will get you more synergies than you could otherwise get, but unlike Marrows it's only 1 level more, instead of THIRTEEN extra levels of synergy :)

true. but it saves you 20 points you can spends somewhere else. to me, that's the biggest advantage of the synergy glitches.

exactly, thats why its called the marrowwalk bug and not the carrion wind bug :) But still, not putting a point into P creeper and getting a lvl 21 synergy is very nice.

Another point is that rabies wolves arent nearly as prevalent as foonecros. One point in bone armor + marrows is huge.

yea, its genarally better than maxing all the other bone skills-u can get up to 2k more damage that ive seen instead of like 100-200 bonus from all the skills like bone prison or bone wall
