I don't "know" anyone here or anything about anyone - I recognize a few names because we always seem to post in the same threads. I also don't assume anything about avatars.

Well that really seems to be holding you back.

I see nothing more daring than wearing a kilt in Canada or the U.S. Only less controversial, wearing a kilt in Scotland. What would be daring would be wearing a kilt and calling it a skirt.

I can think of at least one instance were a woman wore pants. Of course, she was burned at the stake and fought the English, but she wore pants. And now, she's a saint.

She was Milla Fricking Jovovich nurb. See it pays to be a History teacher in the end.
How can you be a history teacher in Finland anyway? your country is like 90 years old of which you spent alot of the time belonging to other countries.

You're screwed worse than a 40's cartographer.

I figure since I have already established that I wear a man skirt, I can get away with this one as a man skirt. I will wear this in public. I just do not want to wear something that is very obviously female.

My Utilikilt is made for a man, a man skirt as my female friends call it.

Keep telling yourself that.

It looks manly. Have you worn the skirt in public yet? Got any reactions?

Atleast Bob was subtle about it
I just said what most people here was thinking.

edit: Just for the record, before some green guy comes along and want to ban me as usual: I didnt call him a homo, I just said it would look homo if a guy wears it.

So, what? You want points for saying what the rest had the dignity to keep to themselves?

But thats just it. Men in a skirt should not be looked upon as looking homo. Maybe its the fact that society highly values all things masculine & devalues all things feminine. So in societies eyes, a man wearing a skirt is willingly giving up those highly valued masculine traits for lesser feminine ones.

Why is the reverse not true for women? are they looked down upon for wearing trousers?

Not really, but if someone wants to give me points, I will not deny them.

Dignity? Is it better for a guy walking around looking like a homo, when he thinks he doesnt? If it where me walking around, I would like people to say the truth straight(!) too me.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda. We don't live in should land. I should be able to ride a pig, naked through Jerusalem while chugging a beer but that would get me killed so I don't. The morals and irrationalities of the majority still effects everyone even if it's wrong.

Let him wear whatever he wants. I'm sure he can manage without your "brilliant observations"

The funny thing is when I was in California wearing my utilikilt, I got a lot of compliments from females. Not so here in Canada! But I wear it nevertheless because its my right to wear what I want as long as I break no laws & hurt no people & it makes me mad that people think I should not be wearing it.

How ironic that women can have equity with men, but men cannot have equity with women!

The way I see it, 50 years ago, men with long hair & men with earrings were though of as less than masculine.

Now all that has changed. 50 years ago, it was popular to be a racist, now we know better.

I see the skirt thing as the same thing. I mean, call it a kilt & everyone is fine with it. Call it a man skirt & people FREAK! That makes no sense whatsoever!

The problem is that you brought the skirt out 50 years too early.
