Can I handle Tristram with this?

I've finally traded my way to decent gear with my 1-point hammer smiter (eh... that would be 1 point in smite, not into blessed hammer :p), and I wanted some expert opinions before I go wasting a perfectly good set of organs.


Here are my important stats:
Level 89
1208 Health (this is what I'm a little worried about)
11k Defense (after HS and merc aura)
I don't know my exact resists, but I have full in hell without my Smoke armor, so I know I'm at least +50 above max.

And here's what I'll be using while hammering:
Guillaume's helm
Spirit sword
Spirit shield
Smoke great hauberk (790 or so defense)
Laying of Hands gloves (reason for no Dracs is below)
Gore Rider boots
Credendum belt (for res and strength)
Ravenfrost (didn't have CBF from anything else)
Resist and FCR ring
+3 combat ammy

And changed to these while smiting:
Gris shield (3x diamond for 102 resist all)
Heaven's Light scepter (2x shael)
Highlords ammy (need it for the smite breakpoint I'm going for)



I believe that's 83% crushing blow, and about 1100 smite damage (if I don't have to resort to salvation on mephisto :/).

I'll be running with my friend, who has a pretty b.a. skelemancer. I'm not really counting on the summons to be a huge help, but he'll be decrepifying, corpse exploding, reviving, and making sure everyone I'm smiting is life-tapped, which will be a lot of help.

When we run the mini-ubers for organs (which so far we've been trading), we tear them to shreds. But I've never done Uber Tristram before, and I'm a bit nervous that it will be more than we can handle and we'll lose our hard-earned organs.

Any comments/advice is appreciated. Thanks!

You look fine, as long as your friend keeps up the lifetap, and keeps placing his golem infront of one of the big 3 to take some heat off of you if you need it, should be a piece of cake. Good Luck!

A couple more things:

What about if I do have to switch to salvation for Mephisto? I'll be doing awful smite damage (about 250 to 500) - is that enough to be leeching off of?

Will the 350% damage to demons from Laying of Hands do anything at all with smite on these guys?


It might be a heck of a lot easier than I'm expecting, and I'll wonder why I didn't start doing this 5 or 10 levels ago... I just don't want to be unprepared

Get 270 total Lit Res (a Pally can do this w/o too much fuss) and you shouldn't need Salv. That'll leave you at 75% after Conviction as long as you got all your Anya quests.

I just figured out that with fade triggered from treachery, I'll have full lightning resist after conviction. So that's what I'll go for. I have the runes, but not the armor for it... I guess I don't really care what armor I put it in... in fact, less def is probably better so that it won't take hours to cast.

Anything else? Strategy? Try to get rid of some minions first, or ignore them while I smite like a mad man on the 3? What's the best way to go about only spawning 1 at a time? I don't really know where each one "hangs out".

Ignore the minions completely and wail on the big 3. There is a technique to getting the Ubers one at a time. Several threads have covered this and it is described in my Ribcracker Druid Uber Killer Guide in the Druid forum. It should be easy to find (stickied and usually on page 1 too).

Alright, thanks a lot. I'll let you know how it goes (I don't know when we'll go for it - I think my friend would like to gear up a little more before we get there, and I'd like a treachery of some kind). I'll find this thread and reply to it... hopefully with a screenshot of a nice torch :)
