Can I gamble uniques?

yes, but the odds are something like 4,000 to 1 that the item will be unique, so if you consider how often elites show up in gambling, then multiply that number by 4000, and factor in the cost, you'll see its probably just easier to kill stuff, which you will have to do for the money anyway after a while.

So in 1.09 they removed gamling uniques and in 1.10 they brought it back?
Yeah, in 1.09, it was literally impossible to gamble for a unique. Now, as Bob said, the chances are about 4000 to 1. But even getting a good unique is even harder.

Chance for gambling a unique is 1 in 2000. It was 1 in 100,000 in 1.09, quite the improvement.

Wow, very nice info.
I thought only certain uniques could be gambled.
I've got only manalds/cat's eye/nagel so far.

I only gambled useless set items like naj's circlet and cathans seal or so,
and of uniques: a few nagel 15 or manald 4 :|

btw for those who didn't know (I've been told 3days ago O.O) the easy runeword "edge" (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runewords.shtml#new or if you are even more lasy: "TirTalAmn") reduces your gambling costs.
ps: Don't search for a 3socket bow, you can buy one at charsi...

That runeword only works if you are on the ladder.

And ALL uniques are not gambleable. You won't find items like scepters, wands, sorc orbs or staffs, barb helms, necro shields, zon only bows/javs.... and of course no jewels or charms.

Uh.. what about 1 in 2000 aren't you guys seeing here? Gamble for awesome magics and rares, not for uniques. A +3 PNB, fire, cold, or lightning circlet with 20% FCR that gets 2 sockets from Larzuk will make you rich. If you happen to get a unique, neato, but don't expect to see that too often.

You're much better off doing bossruns with craploads of MF if you want uniques.

Yes, but using the arreat summit (may be wrong, wouldnt be surprised) the odds of getting an elite version of the item is 1 in 30. the odds of getting a unqiue is 1/2000, and the odds of the unqiue being tryeals and not templars is 1 in 9. So thats a grand total of 1 in 540,000 that every ancient armor is a tyraels. And ancient armor is not that common to see in the gambling screen. Factor in the costs to gamble a single armor, and basically its easier to run baal and wait for the tyraels to drop along with 5 zods at the same time.
Like pherdunt very nicely put it, you gamble for good magics or rares, not for set or uniques.
