actually aids inflicts a sub-lethal effect on the body...and if you never get another virus then it won't kill you...

There is chance (though small) that it can cause damage to the brain, liver, or heart, which could subsequently kill the individual.

Most of that is harmless and it's not the immune system that keeps it under control, it's the bacteria itself.

No way to prove this, but I'd say there are many more people that have regular vaginal sex than anal sex. So obivously more people are infected by vaginal. The chance of getting AIDS because of anal could still be higher.

He said that the most common way way for it to be transmitted was through vaginal intercourse which is true. The chance to be infected is higher during anal sex however but that does not change the fact that most people get infected through vaginal sex.

The probability that you will contract HIV through vaginal sex GIVEN the fact that your partner has HIV is less than that probability for anal sex.

yep, based on our theoretical understanding of the bodily parts involved during transmission of course, i'm sure they didn't do any field testing with coloured transmission particles as replacement for the aids virus

My underlining point really was that the vagina is not some magical oriface that won't give you HIV if you don't wrap your meat. Or get HIV if the meat isn't wrapped. I didn't want people getting some notion from this thread that unprotected vaginal sex had some low possibility of passing disease.

The question is what you consider a cause. In the law, they often use the "but for" test. But for AIDS, would the person have died? If not, then AIDS caused the death.

In most instances, the person will die of pneumonia or tuberculosis or something. But for AIDS, would they have caught the disease or died of it? Generally not. Therefore....
