Calling All Crossbow Users

So I want to make a crossbow using character. What kind of characters do you guys use and what crossbows do they use? I was thinking of using a Hellrack for that nice elemental damage. Perhaps on a Strafe Amazon? Thanks for your help.

i like to use MS amazons if i'm using Goldstrike Arch for eye candy

Up'ed buriza for MS becuase of the slower attack speed

WF for strafe

for hellrack i think strafe is good but u'll want some more ias

Even with a buriza Strafe is hellishly slow. So you probably dont want to use strafe with a hellrack :scratch:

I'd say to put the hellrack on switch of a BF 'sin with Venom for massive style.

Maybe Immolation Arrow? Since it has a timer anyway...the slowness won't matter so much?

But usually you'd want to fire off exploding arrow during the delay, so you'd still be doing less damage.

Wouldnt the large physical damage plus the elemental damage make up for it in a way?

Well, what other skills could I use that would complement a crossbow?

I blew through the game with buriza, and only after that did I realize I could upgrade. Strafe; that is my only bow/crossbow experience. Got up to ancients with kuku. With 80% minimum increase attack speed I never thought it was too slow, I just thought shooting like eight times was overkill on one monster. I didn't shael it either.

Neither have I, though I like the idea of them. I have most of the unique crossbows.

So the Hellrack has a base speed of 10. It has 20% IAS. If i put two Shaels in it, how much more IAS would I need?

It doesn't look good to use anything with. Unless I can find some cold damage charms so I can keep those monsters slowed.

What about a Demon Machine? The damage isn't very high but damn the things are fast.

I have a Hunter druid using crossbows. He currently uses a Shael'ed Buriza as his primary weapon, with a Hellrack on weapon switch. The speed of a Buriza and the 100% piercing can't be beat, IMHO. I only use the Hellrack against Physical Immunes, and while it does a good job against them, you really start to notice the lack of speed and piercing ability compared to the Buriza...

Lack of piercing won't be an issue since I'll be using an Amazon.
