Cain in act 5

Hi guys. I was getting sick of the lag on bnet so I decided to go on the ultimate journey, to take a normal old zealot and take him all the way through hell baal untwinked. I haven't played a char untwinked in awhile so it should be fun :). I chose single player because, well NO LAG woo hoo :yep: .

Anyways I just killed shenk at lvl 35 (players 8 is awesome!!!) and when I went to have cain identify some items I found I noticed he was over in his pre 1.10 spot, over by qual-kehk. Is this just a single player "bug" because on the realms cain is right by the wp to make access to him easier.

I guess that's about it so thanks for any answers and I hope you all have a great day/night :).

No, it's not a bug, it's a feature. In SP, Cain isn't by the waypoint. There are a number of niceties that were put into the realms experience that have not found their way into SP.

Good luck with your untwinked character. A number of us play that way here - it's quite challenging. :)

Well i'm glad to hear it's not a bug :). Thx for the heads up guys and i'll do my best with this untwinked business :). And ya it is quite challenging, right now i'm using cleglaws sword and shield, bloodfist gloves (i'm soooo glad i found these) and some other rare/p rubied items. All i can say for all those people who say the game is too easy, try playing like this. Anyways everyone have a good night.

welcome to the SPF
Haha, thanks. I cannot guarantee how long my stay here will be due to the fact that I love the chars made on my four bnet accounts, but I must say that having a single player character is nice when you just wanna be by yourself enjoying this great game :). Plus this whole untwinked thing is bringing back a lot of my actual playing skills that were lost with all the powerful equipment. Anyways I guess I just wanna say hi to everyone here :howdy: .

As a side note, Haiki_no_tenshi (spelling?) is the man for creating that ATMA program. Being able to mule was one of the downsides for playing single player but now I can horde anything and everything I find and not run out of room  .

Bear in mind that one of the other bugs which has not been fixed for us Single Player second class citizens is the Fire Enchanted boss bug--e.g. if you're anywhere near an FE boss in Hell difficulty when he dies it WILL be a one-hit kill no matter how much fire resistance you have. This is a problem for melee characters like the Zealot, I'm sure you can imagine...

What if you have 60,000 hit points? Is it still a one hit kill?

I'm just curious so I know what to expect if I ever make it to hell.

Wow, thx for that update. I'm glad I don't play hc now I suppose :p. Anyways I'll watch out and set up a tp whenever I see one and try to let my merc get the final hit. Thx for the advice  .

Well... the Ancients do about 58k damage before resists, PDR, etc. when FE. Of course due to the bug, if an FE Ancient attacks whilst you're in melee range, that hits you right away...

So if you did have 60k HP you'd be safe :)

Oh, and welcome to the SPF ahcw

i dont think the ancients do 58k dmg in a FE hit, that seems a little too high... ive survived many FE expolsions from hell ancients and i was at 75 fire res, little PDR and no other bonuses.

Actually, the bug is when they hit you in melee, not when they explode. The explosion can be nasty, because it's based on their life, and all three Ancients have a ton of life, but it's not necessarily instant death.

When they hit you in melee, though, it seems unblockable, seems to usually (always?) hit, and if it hits, and the Ancient is FE, you die. Period. It was acknowledged as a bug by Blizzard, and fixed for realms, but despite having identified the problem and its solution, they decided that SP gamers for some reason wouldn't want the fix, and so they denied it to us.
