C/S wwsin?

I was thinking about trying a C/S ww assassin. Are these viable at all, or are c/c just that much better? I thought about using maybe a phoenix monarch, but i am not sure if it is worth it.

You'd be cutting your possible number of hits in half, while loosing the ability to block almost anything, and at the same time you'll look less kwel. All that for ~15% more block vs the blockable attacks.

You'll also get less life if you're pumping dex for block.

If you were to go c/s, Phoenix would be a rotten choice. The chance to block percent would be abysmal compared to Stormshield, meaning you'd be pumping even more dex just to maintain 75% blocking, your life would plummet. Also wwsins rely on venom and ow primarily for their damage (now it is possible to go the physical damage route), so the enhanced damage wouldn't be that useful (which I'm guessing is why you've arrived at using a Phoenix - I see fury wolves doing this a lot as well :banghead: ) .

That said, I believe Rabbitz does something like this with his ww/trapper (uses a shield as he duels with a lot of barbs), so it has been done. Maybe he'd be kind enough at some point. Otherwise, I second the:
Ewwwwwwwwwwww

Hmm i doubt that. 15% more block vs 100(or is it 50%? chance to hit.

Plus the other benefits such as magic blocking and hitpoints..

To note my use of SS. I quit doing that.

As another note though, i didnt spend more then 15 extra dex for max block.

Assasins do little instant damage so 50% more hitchecks doesn't help that much unless its a super high-def char. The venom/ow dmg won't overlap if its already triggered.

Anyone try a up'd swordback hold sin? You get 75% OW on every hitcheck, instead of 66% on fury and 25% on chaos. Or in sin vs. sin duels you can use Tgod's + Gul'd jmod and still get get to a good fcr bp.

if you're going to argue that sins don't have much physical damage (which i don't fully agree with), then it makes no sense to use a pheonix because the ED% won't have any effect.

but even disregarding the damage argument, using c/c is always better than using c/s because it saves you tons of stat points and gives you much more survivability vs. elemental attacks.

66% + 25% OW on fury + chaos = 75% effective chance to cast OW if you compound them. i really see no benefit to using a shield when you're using a claw, unless you're using the pheonix for -fire res for your fire blast. :azn:

More hitchecks = more chance to deal damage with OW and Venom.

If you're gonna make a c/s, make it on a TS sin against melee. The 15% block would be superior to the dragonclaw finisher.
