    Bye Bye PBS..maybe

I hope this doesn't happen. Being a parent of a young child, PBS is great. No more Sesame Street, Arthur, Postcards from Buster, Bobahs, Reading Rainbow and Clifford. There will be no quality learning shows for little ones.

Wow, I guess Nick Jr. will be the only place that little ones can watch TV with their parents.

This really is a shame. Sad that Republicans are so scared of an unbiased source of information that they feel the need to do away with it.

Yeah..I can't imagine not having Sesame Street. Lets see..we will have Blue's Clues...thats about it for education. The rest is just cartoons. No more Big Bird, no more Snuffy, no more Barney (well..that might be a blessing).

I wasn't going to get on a platform here, but I find it outrageous that we are sending money to other countries for education and school buildings and yet we are cutting one of the best sources of readily available educational TV for youngsters. Lets not forget it is a bonding experience for both parent and child.

TV is not meant to be a babysitter. Most parents that watch PBS do so with their children. Its an interactive, bonding experience. Samara and I sit on the floor and watch Sesame Street. When Arthur comes on, both kids and I watch.

    Its a shame...a real shame.

I don't know. I would love to know the reason. The administration can holler about how liberal PBS can be, but please, you can't cut out the kid's shows.

What about Nova for older kids and adults alike? Gone...no money...kaput.

Honestly, I would have rather not had my puny little tax cut and still have PBS.

All of this expenditure of political capital is not making the GOP any new friends.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think Postcards from Buster is a boring show. But I used to watch Sesame Street all the time when I was a kid.

    You should look into Noggin:

    http://www.noggin.com

    "It's like preschool on t.v."

    (No commercials, either)

Well, according to oreilly's logic, PBS is liberal because http://www.moveon.org/front/ supports them.

Perhaps i should become a religious fanatic like the guy here and support oreilly and his gang...

    Thanks for the idea Durf!!

Edit: I never watched PBS in my life. Edumacational programming isn't for me.

    *looks for Freemason*

Anyway, horrible choice. Way to go GOP, bite me. If you think Snuffalufagus is causing little kids to go liberal, you don't deserve to have power. I never understand how so many people were and are against the Republican party in general and yet they got a unified government. How long till November?

EDIT: Heh...I acted as if it passed already, which I realize it hasn't. Well, I really hope it doesn't (if you couldn't tell).
