Built in Clock

Re: Built in Clock

Such a big debate over a clock :coffee:

Basically the /time command will also be in BNET 2.0, ok now thread closed.
Well... you kinda missed the point, haven't you?

This has nothing to do with the /time command. Thread is actually opened. Get a grip.

I hope they put in something to remind me to go to the bathroom every once in a while. Sometimes I get so caught up in the game that I just poop myself!

Well they could do a temp ban every 30 mins so that everyone gets ample rest and toilet breaks :D

Yeah me too. Though you'll get used to it, no need to worry.

They could have a clock tower in towns and u could go and check the time. or they could have a person that u can go and ask "HEY BUDDY WHATS THE TIME"
or maybe one of those old school ways to tell time with the sun setting down and shadow thingy

but it really doesnt matter this is not mandatory to me.
My problem with that is avaibility, if you want to check how much time have passed, it should be possible by a single look at a single point on the screen, not something where you've to go to town, talk to someone, or go to some place, when the series of commands becomes to long it isn't convinient anymore.

However it would be cool enough of course as it makes it more realistic there's a time in game, though it'd also require that there should be events depending on that time.

Take a game like diablo, a very cool mod could be to place an in game clock somewhere, now if you go through certain areas quick enough you'll actually be able to catch up with diablo, and finish the game earlier, but the slower you're the more powerfull diablo becomes. Likewise with baal, who'll become more and more powerfull from the power of the world stone, but if you're fast enough you might catch him before he reaches the summit, etc.

Including a series of different endings, how complex it now may be, would really give more dimensions to many games.

Titan Quest did this well. Move the cursor to the bottom left hand corner and the time (local) is displayed. I rarely went over it by mistake.

Or they could just have it at the bottom of the in-game menu.

Given that I have a way of losing myself in computers games. Sometimes I play for what feels like a few minutes, turn to look back at the clock and realize a considerable amount of the day is gone.

It would be nice if they included either a clock into the interface, maybe either the lower left or right corner.

Or so that they you don't lose to much immersiveness they could just have a simple /command.

Maybe two even.

/clock

/time (to tell you how long you have been playing)

Guildwars had pop-ups after a hour that tell you to rest, I just find those annoying.
Battle.net already has a clock function. Type /time and it will display your current time and also b.net time.

Just have an option to have a small ui clock. If D3 has a customizable interface, you could put the ui clock somewhere major or discrete, based on YOUR preferences.
