Build Idea?? :scratch:

While being disconnected, I decided to boot up my hero editor :uhhuh: to create a super killer, just for the fun of seeing thousands of things die all at one time. Anyway, I was playing around and got this idea:

Nova Sorc (oooooold school I know)
20 Nova
20 Lightning Mastery
20 ES
20 TK
20 Warmth

Main Objective would be to annihilate cows insanely fast. Get tons of +light skills, FCR, +mana/kill and +mana. Idea is: open cows, hold right click down the entire time, and just tele into a center of cow pack, switch hotkeys to nova for a sec or two, and then switch back to tele and tele into another pack. I know it would be damage lacking, but it's insanely fun. I killed an entire hell farm minus ck(immune) in around 3 minutes. Viable? Suggestions?

For this build to work, you would need insanely good gear, and a ton of plus skills.

You will need:
Skillers with life, max block, 1400+life, 1000+ mana...........plus a fast comp..........fcr.........fhr.........

If you spend that much time and money on any build of sorc it is viable.

Also... don't forget mana, I don't know if 1000 mana is enough, if you are utilizing a maxed out ES than you will need at least 2000 mana I say, not like Nova is a cheap attack anyways haha. It would be fun though.... :scratch: maybe....

Tydon??? Why the massive life pool, why the fhr, and why the block, and why skillers with life??? This is max es... slap a few sols here and there and you could run around with 1 life. Don't know what suffix you would aim for on gcs though...

Your going to take a ton of hits in the middle of cows, and in cows, there are many special monster groups, die in one of those and its over. Better to play it safe than die.

With max ES you can go with base Vitality and dump all else into Energy.
Since you use ES you don't need max-block either. You will be fast and not get hit by cows. That's the whole point about a Nova build.
Expect to have +20 skills and also consider adding Thunderstorm to the package. Either perfect Lightning facets or such as +xx%/-5% facets will also be nice to have

I think this could still work in 1.10 with a really nice gear selection :thumbup:

I run a lvl 40 ES sorc and it works best with GC's of Balance (12% FHR) to make up for how bad sorc's FHR is to begin with.

I have never played with 20 Warmth before, but it seems like it will solve the problem, won't it?

that actually seems like a possible build, but I've never maxed warmth, with +skills and +mana after kill and the HUGE mana pool you'll have for es it just doesnt seem so necessary. with all those skills you'd have to be in the high 80's with all skill quests to max all that, try and shave a few off warmth.

possible gear (mainly fhr and -dmg):
rockstopper or coa - sol or shael or both if coa
mara's or +skill fcr + mana -dmg
glad bane - sol or shael
moser's (lowest dex for max block, i think) shael/???
wizzy -light facet
fcr + mana res and -dmg
frosties (for the massive mana boost)
gloom's trap or spider web
sandstorm trek (eth if you can)
light gcs/anni/fhr mana/life sc's

this is what i came up with in like 5 minutes, give some other gear/rune suggestions i don't know what the highest fhr is for a sorc so... but i might make one think there might be dueling potential in this build?

This brings back fuzzy memories of back in .09 with my nova sorc...ahh..these things OBLITERATED cows so fast then...and i would expect with the right gear, it can be done now, hell, If a pally using BLESSED HAMMER can do 10k+ dmg, a Nova sorc can do cows!!! hehe

track down a good griffon, lightning eschuta, and nova ormus all socketed with 5/5 light facets and you'd be able to do this i think... you might want to consider an upgraded nightsmoke because of the 50% damage to mana on it, although i'v never tried an ES sorc so i wouldn't know what extra damage to mana gear does to that...

for gloves/boots i'd say bloodfist and sandstorms (20% FC on ormus, 25% FC on griffon, 40% FC on eschuta... 85% FC enough for nova sorc?) if you need more FC... trangs gloves or magefist. if you used a +5 mana per kill lidless you shouldn't have any mana problems in cows. amulet/rings are obvious choices really... sojs/FC rings depending on your needs, maras for the amu.

With Griffons, Eschutas and Ormus this sounds very nice. Apart from the facets add all Lightning skillers you can and thats it! :thumbsup:

This way you could easily revice the Nova/Orb Sorcy aswell. Forget about ES, go max-block and get FO, with some points in CM :thumbsup:
