    Build Help (lvl80 - Hammerdin)

    Hi All...

I'm building my first hammerdin, and he's up to lvl80. I'm wondering where to take him from here.

    Firstly, here's where I'm at:
    Skills:
    BHammer: 20
    Blessed aim: 20
    Concentration: 20
    Vigour:20
    (plus 1 in all requirements)

    Stats:
    Str: 102
    Vit: 152
    Dex: 164
    Energy: 15

    Gear:
    Griswolds Heart (3 pef Topaz)
    Wiz spike
    Lidless wall
    Shako
    Infernostride
    Razortail

    Resists: 68 / 43 / 2 / 53 (Fire/Cold/Lightning/Poison)

I have 47 stat points left, and 4 skill points (soon to be 6 after hell izzy).
    Where should I put them?
Ive heard good things about holy shield, and also redemption.

I tend to play only PvM.

I'm very much in two minds about the stat points - Dex or Vit ?
I'm finding that in the later stages of Act5 (hell), I'm loosing a lot of life - especially to ranged attackers.

Could anyone give any suggestions on what to do from here?

    Many Thanks!
    TheAlfheim

    (EDIT: I have 795 life)

Holy Shield if u dont already hav any points in there is a great choice it gives u a defence bomus and increases your blocking chances.
Also Redemption is great too if u can spare the points it reedeems corpses to fill up your mana and health supply.
As for your stats id get more life my lvl pally has over 1500 life w/o bo.
But id really reccomend putting points into holy shield.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi....

    Just a quick question.....

The Holy Shield gives added defence. Is that added to the total defence of the pally? Or the defence of the shield?

    Cheers,
    TheAlfheim

holy shield adds to the total defence of the pally.

One point in holy shield and redemption for a hammerdin is a must imo. Go for those. Also, you probably want to get a better armor. Try a upped skin of the vipermagi. Better resists and more fcr. You probably want to get a better belt as well. If you can't afford arach, try crafting for a fcr belt. Those are pretty decent. And if you are on ladder, go for spirit instead of lidless.

Thanks for the info! Very useful!

Just something to clarify if I could (sorry if this seems daft)

Lets say (plucking some numbers out of the air) that I have 1,000 defence, and holy shield will give me +20% defence. Does that mean it adds 200 defence to my overall rating?
Or, the other way to look at it.... If I have a 200 def shield, and my +20% holy shield is cast, does that mean I get an extra 40 defence?

    Many Thanks
