Breaking Immunities

Is there a list of monsters in which level 12 infinity cannot break immunities for certain elements?

My friend said that Oblivion Knight in hell cold immunity cannot be broken with infinity. Level 12 is -85% maximum resist. Oblivion Knight in hell has 180 cold resist. Shouldn't that leave him at 95% (broken immunity), then cold mastery kicks in?

Infinty can break immunitys up to act 4 hell... past that you need a little more


But anything act 3 and lower resists are broken

But why wouldn't oblivion knights immunity be broken is arreat summit wrong or is there a different way to calculate it?

the act you find the monster in has no impact on whether infinity can break its immunity. infinity and lower resist are the only two skills that can break immunities but they do so at 1/5 power. so a -85% infinity will only work for -17% against an immune monster. this means that infinity will break immunities of monsters with 116% resistance and less. any more resistance and infinity will not break it.

Just looked it up and found on the arreat that the max light res is 120% so than wil infinity break almost all of the light imune

And a wand with Lower Resist charges should be able to take care of the rest...

Thank you for resurrecting a thread from August and I found out there is 5 monsters which conviction will not break their lightning immunity in another thread somewhere
