Bow Ama help

Hey so i got a bit bored and i wanted to try a bow ama, my gear is mediocre at best charm wise however i still need some advice

my current gear is
120/45 ias helm with 34 hp
4 sock 78 hp armour i plan to fill with 40/15 jewels
highlords
no boots
no gloves
rare bow matriacal
439% ed
161 ar
18 dex
lvl 7 cold arrow
15 maxdmg
etc and
socketed with 40/15 max but i may change to 40/15ias
dungos belt

nearly a full inventry of max dmg/ar charms gcs and scs a few with hp mod

k firstly is faith gmb definetly needed? with that current bow i get 5k+ ga dmg with my gear and charms.

Secondly is forti a better choice? Cuz i was thinking forti + faith? will this be high enough ias for max frame ga speed etc.

Also any input on gear changes or gear i have missed will be appreciated.

Edit

Also i was thinking pure dex vs vita to behonnest it a glass cannon type so i was thinking just pure dex however some argue the vita approach.

And also possibly keeping titans + stormshield on switch

Don't use faith if you have that bow... That bow is almost pure style. You do however need 142 IAS in order to reach 7 frames, which is acheivible, if difficult.

45 Helm
60 Armor
20 Ammy (Swap this to Cat's Eye by the way, run speed is everything for a zon... although, that deadly strike is nice...)

That leaves 17 more IAS that you need to get from the rest of your gear.
Bloodfists and 40/15 in bow?
Beautiful Bowie Gloves with 20IAS and stats with a 40/15max in bow. (I like this option, but it is a little more expensive)

Bootwise, anything with FRW is nice. War Traveller or Gores with their beautiful damage mods would probably be your best choice.

A nice rare belt would probably be your best option, mass +life, +strength, FHR, all good things. Or, alternatively, you could use Tgods in order to get LFury on your switch without needing to spend a skillpoint in the Jav tree. Dungos is still decent.

Titans/SS on switch definately. Blocking helps *nods*

Pure Dex is a nice option, but I prefer to try to get about 1000 life and then the rest into dex. 1000 life gives a little more survivability than 500, as a lot less will 1-hit you.

Anyways, good luck (green with envy at your bow)

thanks for your reply m8 i liked the bow for style as well but i was worried about dmg, faith offers. Although i should be able to get my hands on some decent ama gloves hopefully

I thought about cats eyes amu as well was debating that vs ds of highlords and yeah running speed is very important.

I was trying to get a circlet with 3 socks + the speed mod but too expensive

Also is there any fast run/walk bps i should be aiming for? Also anyone else got any ideas on bows?

Well, with a rare bow, you basically have to sacrifice fort for the 160/60, which means you sacrifice defense, damage, resists and life from fort.

Faith + fort does give you the last bp with normal pvp bowa gear (120/45, cat's eye etc). Check out the ias calculators around for exact figures. It escapes my mind for mbows right now.

For a pvp bowa, you need some life, so your charms will have to be either max/ar/frw or life. I would personally take a 2/xx/20 over a 3/xx/15 or thereabouts.

A nice rare belt would probably be your best option, mass +life, +strength, FHR, all good things. Or, alternatively, you could use Tgods in order to get LFury on your switch without needing to spend a skillpoint in the Jav tree. Dungos is still decent.
Agreed. Tgods isnt really as good as a rare or crafted belt though. The best IMO will be a ow craft belt with 24fhr, 25+str/50+life/res.

Cheaper option could be a 2zon/2sock/frw rare or magical helm. This helps your java side when you switch.

As for the bow, yours is pretty good for a rare, but lacks ias. Faith is still superior on a pvp bowa (your bow would be great pvm). I sometimes use a 43xed/20ias/1x max damage/ctc amp mbow in place of faith, but the ctc amp does make up for the loss of fort.

with my current bow when i ran through and tested i found that i do like 5k ga dmg but im debating if this is enough a faith i recon could land me in the 6-7k region easily

i got hold of a decent rare belt sporting 24fhr/16 strenght/53 life/3 mana/ 9% cold res

Yes a faith could probably get you that range of damage pretty easily, and the damage from fanat increases the more straight damage you have. Also, with a faith mbow (assuming you have picked mbow over gmb), you have space for 40/15max or min jewels, which add quite a bit of damage too.

That belt is pretty decent. Try to craft an OW one. It should make certain matches easier.

yeah cuz i was about to say if i used a faith gmb i will still have to use a 160ed/60 ias armour to hit a bp.

Yeah im gonna hazzard some attempts or trade for an ow belt.

Also i was thinking of carrying some psn charms, is this worth it?

i.e 2x 175 psn scs or something like this?

Poison screws up your critical strike, so you either go full poison or none at all against es sorcs, necros etc.

A faith mb actually works very well too. You can use fort and you have the versatility to use 40/15min or max jwls. The difference is very small actually.

What do your resistances look like?

hmm my res is in negatives i could prolly get a 60/60 armour though to patch this up

about this psn screws up crtical strike ppl have said this before in a thread and others i think proved this is wrong. So what is the verdict?

Hmm, sry bout that part then. Mainly went on what I've read on, some on it on these forums. I only use poison setups in rare cases, such as when a sorc has 90+eshield and a lot of mana or when a necro is skilled enough that poison is necessary. Others who use zons might tell you differently though. Down to style in the end.

In any case, poison is useful against necros and es sorcs. I usually use 175/3s or 451s when necessary, and with the bug being proved wrong, it could be better than using open wounds.

As for resists, a 60/60 armour is a huge damage sacrifice. If you are negative, then sacrifice some max damage charms instead. Or get some resists from your rare ring, belt and gloves. In the end, some advocate going all out for damage, without consideration for resists, while some go for respectable resists. Its all a matter of preference, but getting 1hked by a stray spell sucks.
