BOTD, which weapon would you suggest?

I find myself very lucky to find a ZOD after killing Thresh Socket a game today. I am very close to combine a VEX soon. It makes me thinking of the BOTD.

I plan to make it on bow, ballista but I see many threads out there only mention BOTD in sword form. Is bow no good? Please give me advise. I cannot make up my mind after playing so hard and get such a rare rune after such a long time playing.

Bows can't be ethereal, so very few people make BOTD in them. It's a waste of a zod, since the damage will be much less then any other weapon type. Cheers!

If you found a real Zod, show it off!

I say go for style points and make it in an Eth Archon Staff (though granted then it's only really useful to a whirlbarb or something...):p

I would put it into an ethereal berserker axe. You can use it for a WW barb (respectively any axe barb) and a paladin.

BotD in a bow is a waste. Faith in a grand matron bow is the better runeword for bows and IMO a BotD bow isn't that much better than WF to justify spending a Zod rune, especially if it is self-found.

IMO if you want overall the "best" weapon I would say go for an Eth Berserker Axe. If you want a 2-handed weapon use an Eth Great Poleaxe.

If you insist on making it into a bow use a Crusader Bow for the better average damage.

If you want pure style than gogo Archon Staff

You just happen to find a zod before you find a vex? hmm...
Anyway, ignoring my doubt, if you have a zod, then you have to think of what character you think will benefit most from it, and what weapon can they have that has 6 sockets. That should narrow your choices. I dont think putting it in a axe is the best option. sure, you get the incredible damage, but there arent many baal-running-able builds that use axes in 1.10.

because bows can't be etherial most people say that it is a waste of a zod to make a botd bow...i am not one of those people because i play zons only so a botd bow would be the only thing i would use my zod for if i was lucky enogh to find one....pop over to the zon forum and do some reading....simple answer to your question tho is to make it in a crusader bow....ya i know that the hydra is a higher damage bow but the crusader has a nice average damage and strength req is less....less strength=more points to pump in dex=more damage

btw...collossus xbow is too slow and strength req are too high to be an effective zon weapon

edit....the zon forum may not have any recent discussions about botd because of the recent new runewords but if you do a search this topic was beat to death a few months ago

A WW barb with max resists can do solo Baal runs quite easily. I do that regularly with my IK barb, for example, and such a barb probably deals less damage than one with a BotD BA and he has no shield as well. Fana/zeal paladins might have problems with OKs and dolls because zeal is uninterruptible and they aren't that good at outrunning or out-jumping them, like barbs.
