Bone Spear & Lower Resist?

Hi All,

I'm building a bonemancer, with the emphasis being on bone spear and bone spirit.

I was wondering, is lower resist a good compliment to this build?
I know spear/spirit does magic damage, so does lower resist increase the damage there?

I only have points in attract and confuse, so it'd be a large outlay in skill points to get the curse. Is it worth it?
