    Bone Prison and IM

Since Bone Prison ain't a player will a IM-cursed enemy take full IM damage from it if I imprison him/her and cast IM.

Is it the same with Bone Wall?

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

get a friendly boner to put u in a bone prison and IM you.

then attack the prison with a melee attack and tell me what happens.

(ps: you'll die, assuming you do decent damage)

I believe it does work with bone prison, but I'm a summoner so I don't really experience pvp that often. I might iron maiden a melee character that hostiles me and watch them kill themselves while quickly decimating my skeletons.

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

personally, i've always thought both worked but my friend told me prisons didnt work and so we did a quick test

i would take no damage whirling through mass prison but die instantly after i whirled through mass bone walls

i guess i didnt test enough, since i tried it again just now and it turns out prison does deal damage...but not all the time

tried it with a d2pk trapper with low AR...slapped on a chaos and whirled

sometimes i couldn't hurt myself before the prisons disappeared but the walls I would get hurt everytime

wall almost always returns the damage but prisons are weird. maybe prisons depends on ar, lmao

    :prop:

If you actually do this then you're on the pathway to many, many NKs and shouts of noob. Don't do it. Learn to duel in a way that isn't bad manners.

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

well most it's a theory against melee chars, mostly it's more fun to trap and use bone spirit instead :p, but in a point of no return...however I dont see why it's such a bad manner...can be good to know :p, my own guess is that in pvp melee wont stand a chance unless they have enigma/other teleport gear.

or did you mean killing the merc?

    edit: what is a NK?

edit2: I looked up wht NK is. But I would never kill someone retreving their body -.-''

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

This is interesting, me (crap smiter in the making, low life but almost end-game dmg) and a friend (nec) tested it and I didn't lose any life at all smiting bonewalls/prisons while under the iron maiden curse.

IM works on gumby but won't work on prison/wall.

Am I missing something here? Would smite be any different than whirlwind? I can try with a barb later as well

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

sorry but test it in hell, it works like a charm (both with wall and prison)
tested it just now with myself (necro) hurting myself. (ww barb)
didn't work in norm tho..must be lower effect or something (or lifesteal work?)

@ bassen// u wouldn't do nk, but people will nk u if you use this cheap tactic. you should not be losing to any melee if you are a boner

EDIt* haven't tested with smite..but don't see point.

EDIT2* ROFL!! I;ve teste with smiter too, and yes it doesn't work on smite!!!!
it works rather well with zeal tho ;)

EDIT 3* hmm smiter does take dmg from IM when used on nec himself, but not enough (he lost only like less than 200 life w/o any pdr% when atacking nec with bone shield up. this is very strange.

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

haha, could it be that SMITE IS NOT MELLEE? :prop:

I'm quite sure we tested in hell.

edit: tests were conducted in hell and it all seems random. Wall does indeed seem to work better but we couldn't notice any pattern. I've had two cases of IM doing it's job on the first prison and cases where I went through 10+prisons without IM working.

In two cases IM worked vs. wall number 7 but just when we thought there was a pattern it all turned out to be random.

It works vs. ww barbs though, which is different to smiters.

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

i am starting to believe it isn't

strange enough, neither bone wall or prison hurts barb at noraml, only in hell.
    as for smiter..

smashed like 20 walls and prisons and nothing happened. only when normal attack or zeal was used, then it was instant death.

now...so shall we start smiting in CS? :wink2:

looks like BA also absorbed smite dmg, but didn't reflect. whatever was done to nec's hp affected smiter directly tho. (that was my conclustion anyway)

i guess our holy warrior cannot take dmg from undead filth

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

Both seemed random in the test we've conducted, not enough to come up with any conclusions though. Wall seems to be a bit more consistant but I've had prison work on first ww too.

One's best bet is to IM the other person and spam wall it seems, single walls don't cut it either.

Then why do they PVP if they can't bare to lose? It's just a game ^^

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

well simply put, its an unspoken rule about good mannered and bad mannered game.
using IM to kill a melee char is cheap. killing a naked char is cheap. they can just simply say why pvp when u cry when they keep on nking you.
no, its not a part of the game, and certains rules are there for a more friendly, enjoyable pvp experience.

ofc, you can just ignore this and do whatever you want. be warned, some people are very good at tracking your acc, spread it among people, and kill you be it gm or bm, they wouldn't care at this stage. this is including, and not limited to killing your char whlist lvling, teaming up against you, nking you repeatedly, etc.

anyway, this is century old debate about gm and bm in pubs...frankly i don't give a tuny rat's *** anymore...
nothing productive ever comes out from this 'debate'

    Re: Bone Prison and IM

But if you apply such lame tactics in a sp duel game, you won't exactly make new friends. :wink3:
Also, IM is banned in sp duels.

And even if it's a mega BM game, it's considered really lame and cheesy, it's basically like using massive slow's target gear, but worse, you're rendering your enemy completely useless.

Edit: I take this as that you are interesting in starting to pvp bassen
