Bone necro - build and shield question

Hi folks,

I'm testing which is the best overall shield for bone necro.
Atm I'm using SS, so my necro has max block with it, 125 fcr and 86 fhr.
However to atchieve this I had to sacrifice:
- damage (now 3,5-4k)
- life mana (now 2klife/86x mana)

I'm using wizzy, 2/20/20 coronet, maras, SS, eni, magefists, arach, 2x fcr rings and Shadowdancers.
My mana is crap, even though I thiught Wizzy will help a lot here.

I was watching videos of Smash vs In-Crow and noticed that he's not using SS and Spirit. It must have been necro specific, so I assume homo or Darkforce. Also as he was able to survive one ww of Smash I assume he had max block (homo only then)

Any of you have an idea what shield was he using and what would be the best performance wise and what supporting equip will it require?
Max block is useful, but I'm not sure if I want to play this way having so many sacrifices to get it. I'm getting beaten by other classes (caters) due to my low life and mana.

I've heard that there are some mad Splendor shrunken heads out there, never tried one myself though.

+1 To All Skills
+10% Faster Cast Rate
+20% Faster Block Rate
+60-100% Enhanced Defense (varies)
+10 To Energy
Regenerate Mana 15%
50% Extra Gold From Monsters
20% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
+3 To Light Radius

Edit: ofc the shrunken must have +spear/spirit

Otherwise i guess ss or maybe ber'd homo would be good vs. bvc.
Not sure though since i only play novamancer when it comes to necro.

There is no way to get max block with splendor necro head without investing most of the stats into dex, due to no increasad chance of blocking mod

I've seen the video, too and I'm guessing that in crow was using Homonc. He was probably was using minimal dr equipment, too. If you notice, in crow never tried to tank smash. Everytime he got hit he just teleported away and probably recast his bone armor. Now with this playing style, Homonc is probably the best shield since you can get max block easy and it gives you +skills.
