i am a sorceress
my blocking (via calculator is 45%)

if my shield has increase 30% chance

does that mean i have 75% blocking???

Note that the base blocking chance of shields (expressed by "blocking" in the formula above) depends on your character class, so if you have a shield on your paladin mule, you might be surprised if you give it to your sorc and notice the chance is lower than expected, especially if your build is complete and you have no stats points left to even that out.

Hehe, a lvl 99 sorc with a Buckler would need a total of 757 dex to get max block. :D

thanx

Freezerburn: i thought that was only good cause it told you against the last monster you fought. If i fight an imp, my blocking is going to be better than against mephisto??

Others: but when it says "30% increase chance to block", does that mean i get a free 30% so i only need to claculate my dex to get 45% block to get the benefits of a full 75%??

Your blocking remains the same against all monsters. Only chance to be hit differs.

The % increased chance to block is already shown on the shield. For example, a shield which normally have 35% chance to block gets a "20% increased chance to block" will be display as having 55% chance to block, so you still need to take that into your calculation.
