Mods of mods, something like "Mental Strength", all your "+ to str" on items gives 10% more str bonus. I liek the idea of that one item affect the mods on other items, a powerful one would be one that inverse all items mods, so minus mods are positive and the other way around. Seldom useful and there has to be a chanse for items to have ONLY minus mods. Prob on a uniqe item

Wow i just joined this website just to add my input on a few ideas:coffee:! They Could have these affixes 1.(Reanimate- (%) chance to respawn half a map away from body when dead.) 2.(Confusion(negative affect)- Moving is opposite for 30 seconds.) 3.(Baals Rath(negative affect)-
(%) of health orbs exploding and doing extreme damage to you.) 4.(Angels Fury- (%) chance of tyreal spawning and clearing the screen of enemies (except bosses) this could be a high lvl req. something like lvl 79 and up! Well just a few of my ideas:whistling:, im always going to be a diablo fan! Thx for the time!

Weapon of Past Souls: 1% chance on spell casting to summon one of the past heros of Sanctuary.

And they could use a build or something, with the chance of all 7 classes in D2 to be summoned using some skills from D2. Like, if a sorceress comes up, they could be a Blizzard or Orb sorc.

Since gold would be more impt in D3, this would be fun.

50% damage taken would be deducted from gold (clvl x 0.1 x damage), +50%gold find

Im 100% sure you guys have watch the first game play demo featuring the barb then the witchdoctor.

Do you guys notice that the barb was wielding 2 axes.
one ice and one lightning.
the axes was has a cold frosty aura/mist
the other had electric arcs.
The commenter said that criticals with these elements have special effects
Fire = burning fire dmg over X time
Cold = freezes for X time
Lightning = Stun for X time

The POINT is
1)Is it Balance if a weapon had tri-elemental dmg
and is capable of all this effects.
2)Would the graphical effects rotate?
3)How would the critical be calculated and applied? physical , elemental or per each elemental? all criticals at one GO?
(Looks like some coward ask a mage to imbue this weapon)
(Yeah a Stun and Frozen monster , just the way i like it)

Suggestion would be the Highest dmg or Highest average dmg/sec would be your dominant
Primary Critical.

Magic Find mod: Doubles your cumulative chance to find magic items
Means it doubles the whole % to find magic items you get from your whole item set.

Summoner's blank of blank: Minnion life and damage is increased by 5-25%.

The mod just seems fun to me. :D

Of Sacrifice: You constantly lose health, but gain health on killing an enemy.

Not exactly a life leech, more of a minor HP Orb drop that comes up no matter what, for the sake of HP degen.

2% Chance to convert when striking cat class to become ur minion. if u carry 1 item of this prefix u can only have 2 of this type of minion @ any one time. So with this we can have set items for a zoo-keeper build :p



*we can have other type of this prefix too. Birds, Beast...and such

Like D2x equiping complete set jus give u a glow, with the completion of zoo set,gets u an additional legendary animal as a pet to fight along (Chimera, pheonix, levaitian)

Insanity - very low chance to send you into a berzerk state for 1-5 "rounds" where you simply deal massive damage for a brief time.

Voracious - triples any non-lifetap leeching effects for a brief time when triggered.

Ironclad - 10x armor for a brief time when triggered.

Tons of other triggers.


As to constant effect ones...

Nimble - Gives you a constant 20 percent chance to avoid any damage from attacks that are determined to hit you.

Nefarious - Adds 20 percent more damage in the form of (whatever is deemed most nefarious).

Overzealous - you do 20 percent more damage, but take half of that extra damage yourself.

I'll think of more.

...of Shrinking: Weapons have % of shrinking the monster upon hit.

I know this seems like a Duke Nukem rippoff but Blizzard can improve on something like this. After the monster is shrunk each class would do something different with it:
Barbarian: Crush it with his/her foot.
Wizard: Pick it up and put it in his/her bag to study it later.
Witch Doctor: Pick it up and eat it.
Archer class: Attach it to an arrow/bolt and send it flying and screaming.

Ok ok I got out of hand and it's probably won't happen since it's too much work for just 1 Affix, but maybe, just maybe...

On being hit enemy has:
% chance to be thrown in the air at random angle.
% chance of being teleported to random place
% chance disappearing and reaparing x seconds later
% chance of swapping places with you
% chance to heal you when hitting you back(one strike)
% chance of being disarmed
% chance surrounding enemies will be pulled in closer to it

+X damage to specific Element (like Fire) based spell attack including multihit spells.
+X unresistable damage(as in all forms of defence inlcuding block but will come in very low amounts)
%Stamina drain (forcing enemies to walk)
Weapon does splash damage of certain Element
Weapon damage powers up on striking(gains 10% per strike up to 100% resets after 5 seconds)
Armor Defence powers up on being struck(as above)
Item loses %damage %Defence each time player dies(including PvP)
% Increase Aggro

Here's a few I thought up.
Apologies if I have the same effect as one of my predecessors.

Bloody - Chance to gib the enemy when they die, leaving no corpse.
Murdering - Damage increases as Fury decreases.
Annealing - Bonus for whenever an enemy uses Fire magic against you. (Can analogously be extended to other damage types.)
Parrying - Upon a successful shield block, the character has a chance to counterattack. (Logically should be a melee weapon modifier.)
Silencing - Monster's dealt damage by this weapon can't use spells and have any buffs/curses they cast dispelled.
Cold-Wrought - Item becomes a rare item when it is fully repaired from 0 to maximum durability.
Snickering - Enemies are damaged whenever they miss you.
Purifying - Undead and demons suffer damage when in your light radius.
of Hacking - Enemies damaged by this weapon have bits and pieces of them lopped off as their health wears. The flying chunks can damage their comrades.
of the Rooster - Some bonus when the sun rises.
of the Owl - Some bonus when the sun sets.
Affluent - Some bonus applied for having lots of gold.
Meek - Some bonus applied for having zero gold.
of Transference - Your attacks replenish the mana of friendly spellcasters.
of Gorging - Your attacks replenish the health of friendly fighters.
Shattering - Kills the monster if the weapon breaks from the attack.
of Assassination - Damage dealt to the leader is also dealt to the minions.
of Bribery - Damage dealt to you is reduced, but drains gold.
Behemoth's - All other stats and requirements of the item are doubled.
Lucrative - Item sells for much more gold than normal.
Smiting - Damage bonus against summoned and revived enemies.
Trailblazing - Bonus if item is equipped to your first character of a ladder reset.

I haven't scoured others' affixes, so I'll likely end up repeating some, but this'll just be a good bit of brainstorming for me...

Attribute-Empowering Affixes - These affixes are designed to improve the amount by which the attributes affect the stats they affect.
  • Pedagogue's, Professor's, and Scholar's - Increases the amount by which WILLPOWER affects SPELL DAMAGE.
  • Orc's, Ogre's, and Giant's - Increases the amount by which STRENGTH affects MELEE DAMAGE.
  • Sharpshooter's, Sniper's, and Deadeye's - Increases the amount by which STRENGTH affects RANGED DAMAGE.
  • Newt's, Starfish's, and Troll's - Increases the amount by which WILLPOWER affects HEALTH GLOBE BONUS.
  • Seer's, Clairvoyant's, and Telepath's - Increases the amount by which VITALITY affects MANA REGENERATION
  • Goliath's, Titan's, and Behemoth's - Increases the amount by which VITALITY affects LIFE.
  • Tumbler's, Acrobat's, and Daredevil's - Increases the amount by which DEXTERITY affects DODGE CHANCE
  • Scoundrel's, Rogue's, and Assassin's - Increases the amount by which DEXTERITY affects CRITICAL HIT CHANCE
  • Warrior's, Paladin's, and Phalanx's - Increases the amount by which STRENGTH affects BLOCK AMOUNT
  • Knight's, Dragoon's, and Cataphract's - Increases the amount by which STRENGTH affects ARMOR BONUS

I won't try to come up with names, but:

-all durability damage is dealt to this item instead ('guardian' for etheral items perhaps? good compromise if you find a very good eth item you want to use, just toss on some crappy guardian boots)
-%chance to proc another hit immediately after (kinda like WOW windfury)
-causes bleed effect on enemies (%-based dot)
-no items above level X can drop (from my experience in game design, this is just not fun, but may as well throw it out)
-speeds enemy by X (opposite of slowing enemies in d2)
-+2% damage (or defense or whatever) per second standing still after 5 seconds (so if you don't move (you can attack of course) for 6 seconds, you get +2% defense, 10 seconds +10%, etc with some max). This is fun, encourages you to stay in the danger zone without keeping you from doing otherwise.

can't think of anything else atm

% chance to summon. Could be an ally only or sometimes maybe it coud be other monsters like an evil earn would. Summoned allies would be woodland creatures like wolves, bears, ravens, rabid ducks, etc. Also an Of propaganda affix. would give a low level aura to you and party members. Or maybe have a time limit like you get the aura for 20 minutes of gameplay time, then the gem/rune/property expires.

Weapon on hit affixes:
Jinx - x% chance to spellfailure for enemy for x seconds
Force - x% chance to kickback enemy x meters
Freeze - x% chance to freeze enemy for x seconds
Thunder - x% chance to cast lightning spell centered on enemy
Incinerate - x% chance to burn enemy for x dmg for x seconds
Fortune - increases % chance to find magic itme with x %
Cripple - x% chance to cripple enemy and reduce movement speed by x%
Petrify - x% chance to turn enemy to stone (does not work on bosses & minibosses)
Insanity - x% chance to make enemy attack another enemy.
Vampiric - x% lifesteal
Spellstrike - x% manasteal
Brutality - x% chance of double damage
Spelltrigger - (cast a spell on weapon to set spell trigger). x% chance to cast this spell on hit.

this can be on everything, weapons, armors, etc..what fits. i think that some could be as skills, worth considering.

X% chance to get +X% overall speed (that includes attack speed, running speed and even casting speed) for X seconds. the % speed should be ranged from a low and almost unoticable %, to a very high and significant %, which would be insane, almost impossiable to beat. these should be very rare.

X% chance to be invisable for X seconds. the character will fade to be invisiable and then the counting starts.
if this is too strong, it could be also chance to fade, which lowers the attack rating of your enemy, and maybe sometimes even makes it not possible to target you (in the case of invisable).

X% chance to create fog around the charcter in X radius, for X seconds. the character who created the fog will see all his enemies clearly enough with the graphics, but the enemy will have trouble in targeting him.

burn damage for X seconds (which is like poison in dii, just that your enemy goes up with flames. every second he gradually suffers an amount of damage)

X% chance to make burn damage

the last two could go also with electric damge.

X% to decapitation! (only for pvm), you could cut off their head (instant death, obviously), cut off a leg(s) (they will be on their knees, moving slowlier, or crawling), or cut off a hand (will be reducing their damage). every situation depends on the monster type, and will be acting accordingly.

X% chance to bleed (the enemy bleeds while his life reduced gradually). on pvp it could apply for a few seconds.
X% chance to meltdown (instant death to the enemy. just wach him as he melts down)
X% chance to choke for X seconds (enemy is stunned and his life reduced gradually until he recovers). this should include cool graphics! the attack should be a special one with a bash to the throat, and then the enemy is stunned and his hands are holding his throat..

+X% to "motivation" (increases attack rating, physical damage, walk/run speed and spells).

X% chance to apply TEAM POWER MOTIVATION - while in party, when everyone are very close (at a defined range which will be the maximum), everyone on the party will get +X% "motivation". this could also go up when the party kills over X monsters in less than X seconds (defined). the affect will be removed after X seconds (hence: X% chance to team power motivation for X seconds).

X% to turn to stone for X seconds (after taking a hit, the enemy turn to into stone, and 1 more hit would smash him to pieces). also the X seconds is not necessary... it could be parmanent, but of course until he won't suffer any more hits, he won't die.
