Blade Shield Revelations
Too often is Blade Shield neglected, or left to a one point wonder. Here are some great things about blade shield you may be interested in that I discovered upon my own testing/research:
1. Blade Shield seems to have a weapon range of 1. Upon passing close by monsters who did not hit me, it seems as though I hit them with blade shield anyway. True or not, there's much more:
2. Blade Shield transferes everything that Blade Fury does, but a bit more. It transfers all weapon bonuses, including CB, DS, and OW, as well as elemental damage. So basically if your attacking with kicks, and the enemy hits you, it is like an extra hit with CB, which can add up vs. fast striking opponents.
3. Blade Shield casts and leeches from LIFE TAP! This is probably my greatest find ever. I tested JanusJones warrior monk guide and made it to his specific skill outline. Then I tested it a few more times, and for laughs I maxed out Blade Shield, manly for the duration. In the Worldstone Keep, on /players 8 I was surrounded by NO LESS THAN 20 of those fetish types (the non-undead ones.) They were all hitting me, and I was not attacking at all, and there was no shadow to help either, just me. Suddenly, the Last Wish chance to cast life tap hit, and I healed myself from their melee attacks faster than I lost health. An incredible find I think.
So don't underestimate the use of this skill. If you wear Dracs, have a good CB %, or would like to slay demons without ever touching them, invest a few points here, you won't regret it.
