Beta Druid Delirium

I'm racking some 1.07 Alpha Helms to make a 1.10s Delirium. I was just under the assumption that I'd want a +3 Hurricane, or +3 Armageddon. But, the main reason I'm making a beta, is for the CtC Confuse. Want it for the extra crowd control.

So far I've found several +3 Tornado, +3 Shock Wave, +3 Rabies, and a +3 Summon Grizzly. This is the best Hurricane I've found:
Code:
Alpha Helm
Defense: 61
Durability: 13 of 20
(Druid Only)
Required Strength: 44
Required Level: 30
Item Version: Expansion
Item Level: 87
Fingerprint: 0x4797cb33
+1 to Summon Dire Wolf (Druid Only)
+3 to Feral Rage (Druid Only)
+2 to Hurricane (Druid Only)
I'm thinking of just going with the +3 Grizzly though:
  • It will be useful for the odd-ball builds
  • I can just make a 1.13 delirium with Hurricane or Armageddon.
  • It would be a nice 'swap' for all Druid builds (+5 Grizzly)
Any advice or suggestions? Thanks.

Another contender:
Code:
Alpha Helm
Defense: 57
Durability: 15 of 20
(Druid Only)
Required Strength: 44
Required Level: 30
Item Version: Expansion
Item Level: 87
Fingerprint: 0x646e8f8b
+1 to Fissure (Druid Only)
+3 to Volcano (Druid Only)
+1 to Summon Grizzly (Druid Only)

Delirium typically gets used for the PVM windy builds. Hurricane isn't really all that powerful without the proper synergies, so I would go with the Grizzly or Tornado pelt personally.

Delirium has a ctc confuse on striking which works with non-spell attacks only. I think that tornado is a spell attack, so it might not trigger it, but I'm not sure.

Yea, I don't think it works either. Will be for melee/ranged. Just looking for good back up skills or summon support.

@japanzaman - that gives me an idea. Probably should have been obvious, but I better check all my blue pelts before deciding. I might have a +5 or 6 Grizzly already...

I know if you have no hard points into a summon, and remove/swap skill granting item, the summon will poof. But, if you do have hard points and swap/remove the summon will keep higher skill level? Thanks.

True, but it's also the easiest way to get a +5 Tornado Pelt with some halfway useful mods for PVM.
That's pretty much the only reason why I'm picking up magical and rare pelts. Magicals can even have +6. Their suffixes are pretty bad, however.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm really doing that, however, I dislike playing wind druids. Even though I know how to aim tornados (shift-click behind the target), they seem to miss too often in critical situations and my reflexes are rather bad when I'm under pressure.

Getting that +3 elemental +3 tornado is not an easy thing to do- that mod is rather rare for pelts unfortunately and +3 tornado is tough to find as well. Rolling them with jewels might be quicker, but I doubt it.

Aiming Tornadoes is usually not a problem for me unless the enemy is rather small. Bosses are usually large enough to hit at close range and the bear and merc usually take the hits anyway.

Going through my blues, I've got:
+2 ele/+3 Armageddon
+3 ele/+2 Tornado
+3 ele/+3 Twister
+2 druid/+2 Volcano/+3 Hurricane
+2 druid/+2 Tornado

Looks like I've got most of the +5 elementals covered already. Definitely going with some +summons 'Delirium'. Just to be sure, as long as you have hard points into a +summon skill and swap/remove the pelt, the summon will keep higher skill level?

It works for Necro summons so I'm 99.5% sure it works for Druids as well.

The summons will keep their level, but a skill-level-dependent amount will be reduced accordingly... at least for necros.

No, the amount of summons is reduced (i.e. how many of them there are), not their stats. For a bear or wolf it's irrelevant, of course, as there's just one in any case.
