the greater distance through a body would increase the resistance,
a 9v battery could contain enough current to kill if it were to be placed directly on the heart, but when placed across the tongue a good distance from your heart, its not recieving nearly enough current to do any damage

Electricity is lazy in that it always takes the easiest (read as least resistance) route to complete the circuit. When you put a 9v battery to your tongue the current passes through the tongue to the other terminal. It never gets anywhere near the heart.

Mental Note: When completing electrical circuits with my body, never put my heart between the start and endpoints of the circuit.

Well, it's actually true. Of course, amperage is dependent on voltage and resistance.

    ......

    Edit: Oh yeah.

It's not the volts, but the amps that kill you.

I'm not sure how much resistance the body would have internally.
I would expect blood to be a good conductor.
It's mostly water and is full of electrolytes.

At one review of the tests at a physical the doc said your electrolytes are high. I'm not sure what means.
I thought I know one thing it means
Then the doc said, I'm going to have another sample taken and check it.
    I thought, knew it.

the major problem that I'm facing is that this happened at the end of the summer. I had to come down to school, and my comp wasn't fixed til I got here.
If I want a refund, I'll have to send my laptop through the mail because I'm 11 hour drive from the best buy in question at the moment.
Since the best case scenario is that I get 70$ back, and it will probably cost 30$+ to mail with insurance.

It's not the volts or the amps, it's the electrons that kill you.

It's not the electrons that kill you it's the lack of oxygen to the brain after your heart stops.

I'll bear that in mind next time I'm on trial for strangling someone.
