a kingslayer in a long sword would be the best... 50% open wounds, and 33% crushing blow, and 1 to vengance...i think this would be definetly the best weapon...right? ("c"/s)

Look folks, the only reason you go claw-shield as a kicker is because you specifically want to duel barbs or something. In PvP, claw-shield is inferior to claw-claw in every match-up but against barbs. Maybe it's good vs. the 2 or 3 wolf druids left on bnet. 
You will never beat a decent pally by going claw-shield. Note: I said DECENT. I'm sure you will be lots of mediocre pallys. The good ones will smite you dead in about 3 seconds, even with lacerator. With the claws, you at least can block the smites. By definition, a decent melee pally will use exile, and they WILL trigger lifetap.
You may do ok actually as pure melee c/s if you make a titan build, as you dish out damage so fast that you will get some kills. But if you lose the initiative AT ALL, you are dead. Again, this is only vs. other melee. Any caster that dies to a titan kicker either wasn't very good to begin with or simply got surprised the first time and will never allow it to happen again.
For claw/shield, the best weapons are:
1. Lacerator.
2. Death's Web
3. Lawbringer (for casting decrep)
4. Chaos claw (for magic damage, CtC, ias, and the occasional whirl away)
Open wounds is pointless for c/s unless you're fighting a barb. If you are a c/s melee kicker, you either kill your opponent in just a few seconds or you're dead. You likely don't have fast cast, and so minimal mobility from tele, if you wear enigma. If you think that you're going to "hit-and-run" with open wounds, the occasional kick and BoS, think again. That will only work vs. bad barbs (and the druids ). And when you run, your defense = 0 and your block drops to 30% or 33% or whatever it is. You WILL die to desync WW.
This is why my teleporting c/c build can kill more barbs with stun, MB, and the well-timed MB-tele-WW flash than running c/s melee kick specialists. I always have max block and full defense (even if my defense affords not a lot of protection). Further, I have real mobility with teleport. Running vs. barbs as a kicker is imaginary mobility (if the barb is any good).
Finally, crushing blow has been shown to not be worth any effort to increase the mod or even GET the mod at the expense of ANYTHING else. If you happen to have it, fine. But don't spend any effort to get it.

here's some stuff i'm confused about what you said speedlander:
1.Defense = 0 when you're running?
2.So you are saying about every mod that has even been considered for a kick sin is pointless? (pvm mods dont work on pvp?)
3. Crushing blow works a lot on every person I have pvp'd... and it especially works well in pvm.
4.Use c/c on a kick sin? With the sheild you will get so many good all around mod's that you can't get on most claws (Besides the resis's on jade talon).

There is no shield mod that is equal to being able to block almost every attack in the game at 60%. Further, off hand claws can carry high res, fhr, str, dex, etc. etc.

ok, i get most of what you said (when i dueled ppl with 75% cb (i know it isn't = to that in pvp) saw my kick do twice as much damage as it did the previouse ones, about 20% of the time.) but when you said "off hand claws" does that mean if i had 2 jade talon's on my switch, would i get +100 (if i had 2 perf jade's) resis's while having those on 2nd, (if jade's arent in use, on my switch!!)???. I heard that the 60% chance of blocking w/ the dual claws can also block elemental attacks, and magic attacks, etc.; is this true? I mainly play pvm, and I get killed by elemental stuff a lot, and i just cant seem to get it so that my resis's are high (i use the stregnth runeword so that i get crushing blow.) should i make it out of a claw so i can have it, also is it possible to get 2 soc claw w/ good resis's; that i can make runeword out of. is it worth having it so that i can have high damage, or should i really get some jade talon's, and hopefully the +2 to MA would compensate for my loss of CB.

Wrong. How about this. You bring your crushing blow assassin and I'll bring my non-CB assassin and we'll see what happens? In any event, the CB discussion has been had here already. Unless you have the numbers to back up your claims, don't pretend you know for sure what is actually going on with the damage.gunske said:

Can any one tell me with any sense of certainty how exactly Weapon Block works? Does it block (or is it penalized) when you're standing still? Attacking? Shift-attacking? Walking? Running?
