Best way to avoid Boss AoEs?

Best way to avoid Boss AoEs?

I try to keep moving, but Diablo and Baal have some pretty difficult to avoid AoEs unless you're standing behind a structure (which gives you line of sight issues, and you can't hit the boss). I'm not sure how I should avoid these or if I should just chug pots through them or tp? My Zon is a glass cannon (50 vit and about 450 life), so it's not like I can take more than a couple AoEs before I'm close to dead.

What do you guys do?

Against baal you can get him caught around either corner of the bridge between the Worldstone and the main platform.

Against Diablo it's all about decoy/valkyrie placement. Otherwise you're gonna have a helluva time.

Baal has that annoying cold wave, and a decoy doesn't offer much help against it. What would be a good plan to survive Baal runs?

As said above, get him caught around the corner of the bridge and the main platform. That way, your guided arrows can hit him while he cannot hit you.

If that fails, stand right in front of a wall, so that the cold wave hits you only once, as you cannot get knockbacked again.

Aim Guided arrows to an empty space spot that is in line of sight near him. This is what Guided arrow is for. To hit around corners and obstacles.

Get a weapon that has Chance to Cast Decrepify. Reaper's Toll for a Merc or Wrath are good examples. They do amazing things to bosses.

Agree, especially against baal, however decrep can be a problem to keep it active sometimes, so might want to use plain "slows target by xx%" mod instead.

Act 2 mercs can completely seal baal from attacking by using a kelpie snare, or similar slowing polearm/spear.

Act 1 mercs can use riphook + blackhorn's face.

I'd go with the slow option as well. Keeping a Kelpie in stash for bosses can go a long way in safety. Just make sure the Merc doesn't bite it before he pokes and slows them.

Although, Diablos AoE's never seem to be that bad, as you can leech back while getting the fire nova, the hose those is a slightly different matter. Baal on the other hand, his knockback thing can be a major pain though. Luckily, with a Zon you get D/A/E which helps a good deal.

I mostly run CS and Diablo with my bowazon, (which has 513life and 50fr/lr). And I just tank him and strafe, strafe, full rev pot, strafe. Then Diablo dies.

Most Super Unique Bosses are Demons (I think Izual and Nihlithak are not off the top of my head) so Damage to Demon helps. So does Crushing Blow. Although Crushing Blow is very weak on ranged attacks, it still packs a punch on big guys like D and Baal. Standing just offscreen from where he spawns and spamming Guided Arrow with Decrep + Crushing Blow, by the time D runs from the center to me, he is usually close to dead. Sometimes he gets a chance to breathe lightning. Sometimes.

Defensewise Damage Reduced and Magic Damage Reduced items also help alot. Any kind of damage that's sort of "channeled" in that its a streaming spray, does it by doing lots of tiny amounts of damage over a short period of time.

using dracs helps a lot too - being able to leech to full health with every shot you take is a good counter for almost all damage.

Against Diablo I just run around a helluva a lot and shoot off guided arrows while occasionally placing my decoy. Often times I do without the decoy though, and can take him out using one or two super healing pots or maybe 1 full rejuv. Just avoid the lightning, and pot up after he does his fire circle thing once or twice.

The 1 occasional problem vs diablo is the prison. Once in a while you get trapped in it, and......

I don't think I've ever seen Diablo ever go for my Decoy. I don't think Act end bosses are that dumb are they? Once in a while he'll turn my Valk into a popsicle, but thats about it.
