Best use for Doom runeword

I play single player, and by a grand stroke of luck had a Cham rune and Lo rune drop about a week apart. I also have finally gotten almost enough runes to cube up to an Ohm, which would allow me to me Doom. So the question is, what's the best possible use for it? I'd like to take advantage of as many of the mods as possible. The most intriguing idea I could come up with is to use it on a Frenzy barb and use either Rift or Voice of Reason in my other hand because of the ctc Frozen Orb, which (I think) would benefit from Doom's -enemy cold resistance. But if anyone has any other ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

Tough decision you have...but I would like to point out something:

Doom - 5 Socket Axes/Polearms/Hammers

Rift - 4 Socket Polearms/Scepters
Voice of Reason - 4 Socket Swords/Maces

Thing is, Hammers: Classed as War Hammer, Mual and Great Maul.
If you want to dual weild, you need to use war hammer types because it is one-handed. But War Hammers, and its elite and exceptional versions only have a maximum of 4 sockets which means Doom'ing it is not possible.
Therefore, you will need to use maul or great mauls which have upto 6 sockets. However, this means that you will not be able to dual wield.
You can use Doom on an axe (Beserker most probably) but that means you will not be able to use Rift OR VoR.
If you want to maximise your -% Enemy Cold res you can try Famine RW? This will mean another few months of getting the HRs though...maybe Kingslayer to use that Vengence with your -% Enemy Cold res? Tough choices.

Imo, I would use that Ohm for CTA and the Lo rune for the Grief or Fortitue

Which would leave the Cham for ... Pride?

(I agree with Magpie that CTA and Grief/Fort are better options than Doom).

Yeah, I forgot about the 4-socket limit on warhammers. Dammit.

Although, since neither Rift nor VoR have any ED, I wouldn't really be getting much from that weapon's mastery in anyway, so I could just put Doom in a zerk axe and go Axe Mastery, but I may be sacrificing too much to do that. I thought about Vengeance, so that may be something I can look into, and Famine doesn't seem very doable at this point; I'd have to do an ungodly amount of countess/hellforge runs to get a Jah rune.

The real problem here is that you can't make Doom in a bow, because Doom would make a godly Frostmaiden weapon. :yes:

Frost Maidens get Ice which... kinda sucks. Could be amusing when you use it with Strafe and 100% pierce, though. 120 damage frost nova spam for lols and DCs.

I say go with an axe baba, stack two Dooms. Get Black Hades and a 3 os helm and stick 5/5 Cold Facets in them. Enemies that aren't immune to cold take -150% cold res, so basically they take something in the neighborhood of 1.4k cold damage per hit. Oh, and Doom Ettin Axes hit the 4 frame WW break easy, so you're attacking every other frame. You can also get 15-29 cold damage SCs, which translate into roughly another 58 cold damage per hit each with this setup.

Of course, this is a total gimmick build in that it takes a ridiculous amount of money. It's not a gimmick build in that pretty much any WW Axe Baba build can do it.

I think dual rift/vor would've been better anyway.

Could try a frost zealot who synergizes the aura. Then run holy shock himself. You won't need conviction since that would be a waste of the huge -res on doom. And cold immunes in act5 hell can't be broken.
