xcom kept me up for days. especially on the first play. i stole my mon's laptop and locked myself in my room for days. mom had to ask my sister what i was up to.
OMG, I can't believe that you remembered that name - Claus Unger. He was a stud.cougar said:damn, I forgot all about X-Com. Such a great game. I remember when my best dood died. I think his name was Claus Unger... he was such an animal. I think i was sad for like two days after that happened.
Exactly. Core Contingency I might add. If you've never played TA: CC, can't claim any strategy game better. It's most graceful aspect is that you can design units, and download them. With a possibility of over 20,000 different units, well... Coupled with amazing realism (yes, that tank shell actually CAN miss) and land, air, and sea warfare, it's hard to beat. The use of radar and radar jamming makes the game all the more realistic.mouschi said:Total Annihilation. Most innovative RTS since Dune 2, and that game started the genre.
My supercomando was Claus Unger as noted above. He was my favorite until the day the platoon first encountered the mind controllers. Claus went bezerk, fired the auto cannon while in plane and killed off all but one of his buddies.Deathwing said:Civilization 2, Master of Orion or maybe X-Com: Enemy Unknown for turn based, StarCraft for RT, no contest at all but Dark Reign wasn't bad.
The best thing (well, one of the best) about X-com: EN was the super commandos you could make that made Rambo look like a traffic warden, mine was called something like Commander Peter Coon or Koon (I suppose I should check up on him) but he was 115% accurate with a Heavy Plasma... on autofire
I remember my supercommando, Maria Martin! With her stereotype Mexican attitude and automatic plasma cannon, no one could match her power! Except those mind control people. Damn them! Glad to see I'm not the only one who lost good men to those freaks of nature.jimmyboy said:My supercomando was Claus Unger as noted above.
