Best shield for a spirit runeword?

For my meteorb in the making i want to make a spirit. I just can`t decide what shield to make it in. I have a good roll spirit in an monarch, thought it wass a very nice shield until i saw the strenght needed: 156. So what do you think i must do, get my sorceress up to 156 strenght (still have 65 stat points left to spend) and use the spirit i allready have. Or make an new spirit in another shield and dump all the stat points in vitality?

Monarch is lowest req shield you can make spirit. 219str and 185str shields are other options.

ah i see never thought of the max sockets in shields , will pump up strenght then i quess

the best is a Superior Monarch, witch goes for arround pul~um on east ladder.

Just have to get arround 5 runes sets to reroll it until you get a 35FCR spirit.

The only thing a getting a superior monarch gives you is higher repair costs.

I got my spirit on the 5th day of this ladder, so far it hasnt being repaired. Sorcs are not supose to get hit and spirit just doesnt block anything.

Partly because sorcs are always running...and block doesn't work while running.

If you are not supposed to get hit, why do you need a little more defense that's not going to help anything even if you would anyway? :whistling:

15%ed sux and gives you nothing.. damn perfectionists.. people with worst gear that beat hell are the best players.

If you aren't going to get hit then why not use an eth monarch? 10 less str req.

You'll be getting hit, but your shield won't be doing much for you when you eventually do get hit, regardless of its defense.

Sooner or later that eth shield will break

What it boils down to: Every 4s monarch will suffice, def is irrelevant.

That's the only reason a perfect %ED Arachnid's will sell better than one without. Pfft, like 20 defence is going to matter on a Sorceress.

wow what an discussion i started. Did i not say that i allready had an close to perfect spirt (34 cr ). That fcr i far more important to me than that 40 extra defense

I use a spirit on my Blizz-Baller sorc . Assuming you are going to be teleing through WSK you'll need some Lightning absorb . You'll have a Tgods belt equipped +20 str , a nice +15 str rare ring , a torch +10 - 20 str , and if lucky an Anni +10 -20 Str , thats up to +75 to str right there . I think I went base 110 to equipe the belt and went with some charms from there . You dont need dex as you wont be blocking with spirit so all the rest can go to vitality ..
