Best runeword weapon for a Zealot?

Hey ! I have been running my Zealot through Hell for a while now looking for a stormlash...i am starting to lose hope....BUT i have been finding some nice runes. As i have only played untwinked SP my whole life i dont have much experience with runewords. So i am just wondering while i am farming for a stormlash (which might be forever), which socketed items/runes should i be looking out for?! Thanks
Non Ladder only

Crescent Moon in a Phase Blade is a good supplement for Stormlash until you get lucky. There’s also Grief of course if you’ve found a Lo.

E: oops didn’t see no RWM

Honestly, nothing in the non-RWM runeword section is worth writing home about. The expensive ones (Doom, Famine, BotD) would be alright, but I don't think I'd be running LK for any of them. The most cost-effective options are probably Kingslayer or Crescent Moon.

If one leaves runewords out of consideration, the scepter Heavens might can be really good (if spawned with 2 sockets and high ED).

Call to Arms can be good as a melee weapon, if you can get crushing blow and deadly strike elsewhere.

I've never actually tried hitting people with a CtA, but I've always been under the impression that the oskills would make repair bills pretty hefty.

I would agree that Heaven's Light would be an excellent option if you get one to drop.

Just keep those Ort runes around ;)

It also allows for having life-tap wand on switch, since now you main weapon is the one that gives you BO.

The melee runeword weapon options for non RWM is just ridiculous.

And I would not wait for a Stormlash to drop, as those are very rare (have we even seen one this thread?). All the unique high end weapons are hard to find, like Death Cleaver, which also would be a good option. If you dedicate a lot of time to some MF grinding runs, you will find those eventually, and a lot of other fun stuff too.

I once had a scepter rack on my LK map, which actually turned out to be very generous with Heaven's Light.

Hmm...come to think of it, would Beast be good? Does +9 lvl Fanaticism stack? Or just go with Kingslayer.

Fanat does not stack, highest level aura is the one being active.

@Nesjan what is the goal with this char? Become patriarch? lvl 99? Get him "perfect" gear?

I usually run my character through Hell until im close to lvl 99 and i have what i consider perfect equipment, than ill attempt to run on PLvl/3.

How about hit-power crafts? You can roll good damage, ias and ctc Amplify Damage, add Atma amulet and you can use CM runeword on merc.

It can be a temporary solution untill you get stormlash.

Getting close to 99, and THEN run p3? That's ALOT of playing time :)
haha yep, i'm dedicated to my characters hence the search for a Stormlash, i set out with this zealot and said my endgame equipment would be Stormlash, HoZ, GFace, Dracs, Ravenfrost. Boots, Am, Armor, Belt TBD lol. Ill run with him until i find it, i have everything now that i just found an Hoz, except for the stormlash. Ultimately the end game goal is to be able to run through P3 without dying, then either ill step up to P5 or consider it finished product and start a new project. This IMO is the only way to play SP untwinked.

I just settle for Pat/Mat/Guardian :)

You'll get Zod and Eth Berserker axe before you find Stormlash is my bet, so you'll end up with BOTD as weapon ;)

eh, i think with some persistence it will eventually drop, i have found most items i set out to find, except Windforce and Tyraels armor are the only 2 i have given up on. Anyways what i am gathering form the responses is that Non Ladder there is not much for Melee weapon runewords. Except BOTD obviously, and maybe Doom, Famine and Crescent moon.

CtA ... the other reason is that ladder runewords are simply better, and Grief trumps about everything else. But I agree. Without those available, CtA has a lot of things going for it. Not in the least the nice ED%.

Yes, attack speed, prevent monster heal, life steal, skills, BO, MF

It only lacks Crushing blow and light radius boost :(

Next CtA for me, will be in an Elite weapon, perhaps a nice spear and make a fun fendzon? :)
