ok no one? what should i be looking for in a ring i don't think bk's because life steal me not attacking ever. But i have heard oak sages increase 150 damage plus all my other gear and only cost 7.7 k to repair charges or cube it right?. Soj's for the plus skill and mana. should i get a faster cast rate?

i use hommu and spirit monarch right now as of sheild i don't like the monarch at all

fcr shouldnt be needed at all... get a perfect nagels and a soj? nagels add some mf, or if you really dont care about mf, use 2 sojs...

sojs would be best....not sure what you mean about pots on necro.....main thing you want with sojs is the +skill to boost skeles.......

SoJs seem a bit like overkill. Yes, would result in the most powerful Summoner by making your CEs and minions stronger...but a Summoner is one of the few builds that could stroll through Hell naked and survive just fine. I think the best rings fill in your gaps, whether it's low mana, terrible resists, more fcr, or more MF. In my case, I chose nice Nagels to bring my MF up to around ~300 something because I built him mainly for MF (and a change of pace).

or you could have both and when you want to mf slap on the nagles andif you want to kill then put on the sojs?

What about Wisp Projector? Despite the handy MF, wouldn't the slight % increase in damage from Heart of Wolverine be useful to summons?

Summoners can get by with little, yes, but that also means that the more +skill you stack on him... the army becomes quite formidable and you can run with more speed.

I inherited 2 SoJ when someone quit, one of them went to my Fishy. His other ring is a Tri Res rare with a bit of Mana. He carries 200-ish MF, which is plenty for me, as I like to emphasize kill power while still having a decent %.

Wisp is a good choice - the lit absorb would be very handy in WSK too.

It doesn't really matter I think. SOJ's would be my first choice (if I had them; still saving for them this ladder season). But any ring will do; Dwarf Star or Wisp are decent, and so are rares with resists. Nagels for MF-ing.

i have a str ring and a ravenfrost... 40 mana, cbf, and 20 dex is really handy when trying to get to max block.

I like blue FCR +90 mana rings. Or resists and mana.

I once used an SoJ, but those are just big expensive mana rings without the FCR to me.

After trying out the last two FCR breakpoints on my necro I'm convinced that it's way more fun than having a really low breakpoint and more +skills.

Although they can get away without it, SoJs are the very best. The +1 skill is the important part - it means a stronger army which is all that matters if you're taking things really seriously.

The mana is also great for keeping base Energy and being able to CE or Tele till the cows come home.

Which breakpoints are you trying to attain?

Hardcore/Softcore?

Which gear pieces have you decided on?

The whole gear is a package. It's not just about one item being better for the character. For instance, a perfect Spirit and a Hoto gives you 75% FCR (10 frames). Extra FCR from rings would be stupid.

But someone looking for max block using a hoto or something would need ten extra to hit the 48 FCR BP. Either a crafted ammy with 8+ or an Of the Apprentice somewhere. For them, going without a 10 FCR ring would be dumb.

But that's just one example. If you're hardcore, you'll probably want at least one ring slot to be Dwarf Star to reduce the chances of GG FE pop (one of the only ways to kill a summoner).

Nature's Peace.

As others have said, it depends on what you need. If you have fine resistances, life, all those things, slap on 2 SoJs or BKs, the +skills will help. Otherwise, address what you need to through your rings. There's enough of a variety that you can do a lot with them.

Rare rings that offer Strength, Dexterity, Life, Resists or all types, and increased Magic Find are all lovely items for a Summoner. The increase in stats allows more points to be placed in either Vitality or Dexterity, which subsequently allows you to obtain a more comfortable Maximum Life or Chance to Block percentage.

Stone of Jordans and a Wisp Projector are incredibly nice as well, however, as the Stone of Jordan allows both more and stronger pets, and the Wisp Projector has some very useful charges.
