    best pvm babo gear setup?

I claim that, bar some specific builds, the following gear setup is probably the best for a pvm build:

Weapon & shield: whatever setup you prefer
    Helm: guillaume's face
    Armor: fortitude
Gloves: laying of hands, or ghoulhide for areas with lots of undead
    Boots: gore rider
    Amulet: highlord
    Charms: attack rating stuff
Merc: act 2 might, with pride if you can afford it

The rest of the setup doesn't matter Use what you prefer. I'll now explain why I think this is probably the best setup.

Helm: crushing blow and deadly strike just blows arreat's away. Unless you're using some very specific stuff like last wish, the melee bonuses of gui's helm are unbeatable.

Armor, merc and merc weap: these are pretty obvious.

Amulet and boots: for the deadly strike and crushing blow. Without weapon bonuses, you get around 70-75% to deal double damage (critical strike from masteries included), and 50% chance for crushing blow. The only possible exception to the amulet would be atma's for non-ww builds, but even then highlord's is comparable.

Gloves: the added demon damage is better than any bonuses you might get from other gloves. It makes a very visible difference in the speed of demon-slaying, which most monsters are. Dracul's, even for a non-whirlwind build, has nothing to offer besides a life tap. Ok, dracul's might be good for whacking the ubers, but a life tap wand on weapon switch does the same very thing. Same reasoning for using ghoulhide in undead-rich areas, like for instance act 2 or chaos sanctuary.

Charms: the difference between 75% chance to hit or 90% is so huge that it takes an inventory full with top damage charms to get the same effect. AR charms are cheap and equally effective.

Well, that was it. Comment if you will.

Battle-Cry/Berserk Barb with a perfect Echoing Amulet of Life Everlasting, 3os Echoing Diadem of Life Everlasting (SolSolSol), Jeweler's Monarch of Amicae (4x Sol), Arkaine's Valor (Lo), 2x SoJ, T-God's, Hotspur, Eth Runemaster (4x 40 ED/15 IAS + Zod). Torch, Anni, enough resist SCs to max you out, and then either +skill charms or +damage charms.

That's 129 PDR, and a slvl 34 Battle Cry (at least), which would be enough to negate any attack that deals 307 damage or less (pretty much every attack in the game). Sort of makes the 0 defense while Berserking look a little less intimidating. You'd also pack 90% Lit and Fire Resists, 80% Cold Resists, CBF, a slvl 34+ Battle Orders, some Lightning Absorb, and some pretty ridiculous damage while Berserking (almost 400 average base on the Runemaster), and you'd be IM and PI-proof.

The whole point of this excercise is to point out that whatever gear setup is the best is going to vary pretty wildly depending on what type of Barb you have and what you're trying to achieve. While your gear looks like a decent Double-Swing, Frenzy, or Whirlwind setup, it is far from ideal for a Booyaka, Berserker, or Singer, and you could do a lot better on a Conc-barb, too.

Grief zweihander + phoenix shield is a great choice, yes. Especially for whirlwind builds.

Huh.. aren't 95% of babos frenziers or whirlwinders? [:)] Other builds may use different set ups, but I think that except for a singer, the set up I shown is still pretty good.

If so, then 95% of Babos are missing out bigtime  .
