    I am aiming for a 2necro 10+fcr ammy(possibly w/ resist)

    first off don't say baal as I have yet to see him drop a amulet

    is ilvl based on tc or mlvl in little confused on that bit

    I need somewhere with plenty of potential ammy drops
    pits chaos sanctuary wsk come to mind

    You didn't find this thread useful, did you?
    With little effort you could.

    I'll repeat this.

    Item level of an amulet capable of getting +2 to skills is 90.

    Item level requirement of an amulet capable of getting 10% ( in order to get 20% you have to get lucky and get twice 10% on the same amulet ) is 5.

    That effectively makes 90 the ilvl to aim for.

    The formulae for crafted amulets' ilvls is:

    The ilvl of a Crafted Item is equal to half the level of the crafting character (rounded down) plus half the ilvl of the input item (rounded down). Put another way: resulting ilvl = int(.5 * clvl) + int(.5 * source amulet ilvl)

    Thus, it depends on your clvl ( character's level ) as well.

    The maximum possible clvl is 99. If you had one of these, than the ilvl of an amulet used for crafting would be as follows:

    90 = int(.5 * 99) + int(.5 * ilvl) {int means its rounded down to the nearest integer}
    90 = 49 + int(.5 * ilvl)
    41 = int(.5 * ilvl)
    and finally
    ilvl = 82.

    So you should look for a ilvl 82 magic amulet to use for crafting.

    But, its hard to get to clvl 99, so lets see another scenario:

    Baal's mlvl = 99 => any amulet he drops will be ilvl 99, thus allowing you to craft with a level 82 char. The scarcity of amulet drops of Baal is what makes this strategy useless. In crafting the quantity is the virtue.

    The same goes for any found amulets you would use. Just not enough of them drop.

    Your best bet therefore would be :

    1. Gamble an amulet at any gambling vendor with character of level 93 or above, thus getting yourself two things:
    a) minimum ilvl of such gambled magic amult is **, which is exactly enough for you to craft an amulet of ilvl 90 using the same char you used for gambling.
    b) a lot of rare/magic useful amulets due to the gambling

    2. Craft gambled amulet with character of level 93 or above.

    thanks that helped alot

    I'm just wondering but is it in any way possible (outside of baal) to craft a ilvl90 ammy with a lvl 89 character

    Well, technically, yes.

    1. Again, gambling.

    90 = int(89/2) + int(ilvl/2) => you need to gamble an amulet with ilvl of 92 or 93, which is possible with level 89 char.

    The problem is to determine the ilvl of the amulet you've just gambled, since it varies in the area of [clvl - 5, clvl+4].

    In SP you can do it with ATMA, as for BNet - have no idea.

    2. The only monsters capable of dropping amulet of ilvl 92 or higher are

    Hell Diablo -> 94
    Hell Nihlathak -> 95
    Hell Baal -> 99

    So, go gamble already :)

    PS. RTB, I am not at my best today, is this right?

    If you, like me, spend all you gold on gambling, then I have a suggestion for you

    Level your char to 90. gamble amu's till you get one that has the +2 skill prefix. that way you KNOW it has an ilvl of 90+. craft thta with your lvl 90 char and it will allways be ilvl 90+

    It may be a bit tedious, but if you gamble a lot of amus anyway then it might be the answer you are looking for.

    Happy crafting.

    that is a good suggestion but is there any other mods to look for that for sure have a ilvl of 90?

    No. You should also level to at least lvl 90 before you start crafting magical +2 skills amulets, and you should of course use an Edge bow and a Gheeds charm to get 25-30% discount on gambles...

    Oh, yeah... When gambling and crafting with the same character, chanses that the outcome will be ilvl 90 or higher is...

    clvl 93: 100%
    clvl 92: 90%
    clvl 91: 60%
    clvl 90: 50%
    clvl 89: 20%
    clvl **: 10%

    So you see, leveling to level 90 will pay off with a greatly increased chanse that any gambled amulet will then craft into a ilvl 90 amulet. Leveling to 91 only slightly increases chanses, and then 92 again greatly increases chanses. Being only 10% chanse of NOT getting ilvl 90 or better when gambling and crafting with a lvl 92 character, the trouble of getting to 93 might or might not be worth it to you.

    Huh? You don't have to be lvl 90 before starting carfting.
    And you are most certainly not assured even then.

    At level ** you can gamble an amulet of ilvl of 83 - 92.
    An amulet of ilvl 92 crafted with level ** char will net you an amulet that has a chance to get +2 to skills.

    At level 90 the range of amulets' ilvls will be 85 - 94. And only those of ilvl 90 - 94 crafted with that char will have a chance to spawn with +2 to skills.

    The "No." was aimed at his question of other affixes that require ilvl 90 for amulets. And there are none, therefore the "No.".

    Edit: Didn't you see my second post there, I've posted enough details (I thought) that you'll know what levels will be the best. In that post I assumed knowledge of the formula (from the posts further up) so that clvl 94+ and **- didn't have to be included.

    All good so far. :thumbsup:

    helvete: It's "chance", not "chanse". :)

    what would the ilvls of 2 to poison and bone or 3 poison & bone

    I suspect 3pnb would be near 90 while 2 would be much cheaper

    2pnb would basically do the exact same think as 2necroall would since only thing I use out of pnb tree is my clay and maybe a revive when im bored
    (and lower ilvl perhaps)

    Ooops... thanks, never could remember which it was:)

    ilvl for +3 skill tab (t.ex. poison/bone) is 60 but +3 can't spawn on rares or crafts.
