that's a pretty decent guide there, clsoe to the character i use for "mfing" right now, if you can even call it that. i use a trapassin with nats set simply for the defensive bonsuses and was planning on building a meteorb sorc simply because by now i've found enough items to be able to do that. eventually i might come back to the trapassin if i find more suitable mf gear (namely shako and a gull) but i wasn't really thinking of doing that until reading this.

try a hammerdin, if made right you can do a pit run with out ever using a potion, you can get near 2000 life or more, 15k+ def, 75% block, max resist. with skillz like redemption, cleansing, meditation and holy shield, you can keep alive with ease

hammerdin IMO is the best overall mf character this game has known, but you can make a character for just running 1 place like say blizzard sorc for meph, i made 1 and i have yet to see any character kill meph as fast as blizzard sorc
so there are many builds you can go for but i would try the hammerdin, if you can get some godly gear you can solo baal in full games, find some nice items and lvl as well

Id have to go with the Skellymancer, totally skills dependent, i use mine with full battle gear and he still has over 550 mf
However, dont go with necro's if you hit things when your char dies...there is a hole in my all as testiment
my skellymance has -75 all resists lol, one shot from meph in hell and im dead, buuuuut, i just kill eldrich first and get some minions, then i never die
