    Best level for soj gambling?

I know I have seen this somewhere, but I just can't remember where, so I'm gonna ask ^^ what is the best level for soj gambling? And why that level?

I think this is the way it works.

Gambled items have a 1:2000 chance of being unqiue.
The ilvl of a gambled item will be -5/+4 levels of your current clvl.
Stone of Jordans have a qlvl of 39 and a rarity of 1.
The next closest unique rings, Raven Frost and Dwarf Star have a qlvl of 53.

I think that it will use the ilvl=qlvl so you would need to between lvl 44 (39+5) and lvl 49 (53-4).

Nagelrings and Manald Heal's have a rarity of 15. I believe this means that 1:30 uniques or failed uniques (if you've already gambled one that game) will be a Stone of Jordan.

Edit: So 1:60,000 (2000*30) will be a Stone of Jordan at clvl 44-49.

Which means that 1 in 60,000 gambled rings will be a SoJ. With a -15% Gheed's, rings cost 42,500 gold. That means you have to spend an average of 2.55 billion gold top gamble a Soj. Gathering so much gold and clicking on a series of buttons 60,000 times sounds like a tremendous waste of time.

Yeah, I always gamble with a 15% gheeds and an edge bow...it's like 30% of your gambles are free!

    By comparison:

With no reduction it would be 3 billion gold.
With Edge/Gheed's it would be 2.55 billion gold.
With Edge and Gheed's it would be 2.1 billion gold.

Now factor in selling back many of the amulets in hell, for say an average of 2,500 each, you would knock off 100 million from the total cost. Thus, reducing it to a mere 2 billion from the original 3 billion. Still not pretty.

Why does my gheed require lvl 62??? can't see how this fits in the calculation because it would chance the chance of maximum unique from soj to raven/dwarf or what?

That's right. Raven Frosts and Dwarf Stars have quite big rarity numbers, so it would not be a good idea to allow L53+ items to be generated, and -15% vendor prices won't outweigh that. But wearing an Edge bow is a good idea. That runeword has a level req of 39 from its Ko rune, assuming it's not in a bow with a higher level req.

Kris.... What are you doing? TirTalAmn <--- not even close to Ko... That runeword has clvl 25 requirement UNLESS you put it in an elite item...

    by between 44 and 49 don't you mean 44 and 48 since 49+5 = 54 and then it can be raven/dwarf?

So it doesn't matter what lvl I'll go for just as long it is in the right interval? :)

L44-48 is correct. At L49, 10% of all gambled rings could theoretically become Ravenfrosts/Drarfstars.

Gambled items have ilvl between clvl-5 and clvl+4, as I believe I have mentioned before ;) A ring gambled at clvl 49 will have at most ilvl 53.

... which is the ilvl of Dwarfstar/Ravenfrost, so the character should be lower than 49 :p But perhaps I missed the point of your posting

I think it was because I wrote it in the wrong way ;) I said -4/+5 I think in stead of or something :S argh I can't remember those numbers :p. But as long as I can remember it is 44-48 I'll be happy :)

 You are quite right, I think I just pwned myself.

I wonder why my brain was so sure they were qlvl 54?
    Oh well, 44-48 it is.
